Some of the best things in life bear repeating, and that’s exactly how we feel about returning to the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas Resort for the Rite Aid Foundation’s nineteenth annual Charity Golf Open. We’ll wager that those who have had the opportunity to enjoy Encore heartily agree!

The Forbes Travel Guide says that Encore, the resort’s all-suites property, “delivers the same exceptional service as its flagship property (Wynn), but with a boutique vibe.” We like that each suite is stylish, but cozy, with its plush, custom Wynn Dream Bed and comfortable furniture in the living area. In addition, Encore suites feature every techie advantage you could wish for, like a bedside console that charges your phone, and controls lights, draperies and suite privacy. Throw in floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views and a huge marble bath, and you have the definition of “pampering.”

Room nights and the resort fee are covered by your sponsorship package. It’s handy to not have to worry about added charges since the resort fee covers free wi-fi for up to four devices, two passes to the Fitness Center per day, complimentary valet or self-parking and more.

A stroll from the Encore to Wynn gives you access to all the shops, restaurants, entertainment and other amenities. Not only will you get your steps in, but you’ll be amazed at all there is to see and do in this massive — and stunningly beautiful — complex.

For instance, both Wynn and Encore have their own fitness centers, spas and salons. Wynn also has a traditional barbershop and the new Soul Cycle. Many can’t ignore the call of the beautiful Encore casino, but what if you’re not a gambler? Not a problem. Retail arcades in Encore and Wynn offer so many high-end shopping options, from designer eyeglasses, perfumeries and stunning watches and jewelry to the latest fashions by Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton Men’s. There are plenty of places to buy swimwear, too, if spending your free time at one of the inviting pools sounds like a little bit of heaven to you!

The Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub are the scene for late night music and dancing (buy your tickets from the Encore concierge and your resort fee entitles you to priority access). And there’s no need to leave the property if you’re in the mood for a nice dinner. Treat yourself to one of the best steaks in town at SW Steakhouse or maybe a gourmet Szechuan dish at Wing Lei, the first Chinese restaurant in the U.S. to earn a Michelin star. At the Wynn/Encore resort, you’ll find an array of cuisines sure to please nearly every palate.

Hotel check-in is 3:00 p.m., but registration for golf will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Chopin Meeting Rooms (all of Encore’s meeting space and ballrooms are on the main level of the hotel). Be sure to check in with Rite Aid staff to confirm your participation in Wednesday’s golf outing and to pick up your gift package. Golfers also will receive name badges to gain admittance to the evening’s welcome reception from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

In the morning, you’ll be transported to one of the outstanding golf courses selected especially for this year’s golf event. There you’ll enjoy a hearty, hot breakfast and have plenty of time to warm up on the driving range and putting green before the shotgun start.

As we go to press, some courses are still under consideration for the 2020 program. Here are a few golf courses that have been stand-out favorites over the years and are confirmed on next year’s roster.

SouthShore Country Club is the first private Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in Nevada and was rated as the number three private course in the State of Nevada by Golf Week and USA Today for 2019. Rising from the shoreline of Nevada’s largest privately owned lake to the desert hills, the 6,903 yard championship course draws upon the area’s unique topography to provide a one-of-a-kind golfing experience.

Spectacular Reflection Bay Golf Club, situated along the shores of picturesque Lake Las Vegas, has made a comeback to reclaim its position as one of the loveliest courses in the area. Originally created in 1998, it is also an award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course, the only such golf club in the state of Nevada.

And finally, scenic and challenging Cascata Golf Club was designed by the renowned course architect Rees Jones and is unquestionably one of the area’s most beautifully situated courses. “Cascata” means waterfall in Italian and the club features a 418-ft. waterfall that flows from a steep mountainside, tumbling over mammoth boulders and cascading into a river that roars past the clubhouse.

As always with this prestigious event, every course associated with Rite Aid Charity Golf will be among the best available in the greater Las Vegas area and is guaranteed to offer a memorable day of golf and camaraderie for every player.

Following your outing at one of these acclaimed golf courses, your foursome will be transported back to Encore for our Awards Dinner. There you’ll meet up with friends in the Encore Ballroom to compare scores and replay each hole’s challenges and triumphs — a fitting end to this very special day.

Shuttle to Golf Course 7:30 a.m.Comfortable transportation will be provided for all our golfers to each course. Boarding times will vary by course; specific information for your group will be provided at Registration on Tuesday. Prior to departure from the hotel, coffee will be available in the corridor before the meeting rooms to take along on your ride to the golf course. Outside the main lobby, you’ll check in with our greeter, who will direct you to the correct shuttle for your course and assist with loading your personal clubs. If you ordered rentals, please verify this with the greeter

Breakfast 8:30 a.m.A full, hot breakfast buffet at the golf club will be open until it’s time to report to your carts. If you haven’t already, take a moment to confirm that your clubs (whether rented or transported with you from the hotel) are on your cart, then relax and warm up on the driving range before our shotgun start.

Play Begins 10:00 a.m.Look for skill contests and chances to win exciting hole-in-one prizes on par three holes. Complimentary beverages and snacks will be available on the beverage carts, and freshly grilled sandwiches will be served at the turn throughout the day. Transportation will be staged and ready to take you back to the hotel after play.

Cocktails, Dinner, & Prizes 5:00 p.m.Meet everyone back in the Encore Ballroom to compare scores, enjoy cocktails and dinner, and have the chance to win one of the amazing raffle prizes that are a signature of this always-memorable event.
