Dedication
The 1987 LOKI is Dedicated to ROBERT LARIVEE, Vice President for Student Services.
For eight years Robert Larivee welcomed new (and old) students with a warm handshake and a great big sincere smile!!! He encouraged Linn Tech Students when spirits were low. On days when fellow collegian and students felt down, he always gave hope and a brighter side to look at the situation. He made things possible for us!
Mr. Larivee, accepted a prestigious position with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Jefferson City, MO starting in January of 1987.
Linn Technical College will miss him. He was a true good friend to all. We wish him the best of luck in his new position.

Where Futures Begin Starting out alone, in a leaky basement room I courageously began an electronics class, in the face of
doubt and gloom
Slowly I added classes; two three and then four. Today I number ten with plans to expand even more.
From that damp room, to five assorted buildings plus
• • •
Increased enrollment and high tech demand, make a new campus a must.
Friends and alumni, staff and private business are all doing their part
Donating funds for buildings and equipment that's state-of-the-art.
Cash is always needed, but likewise are gifts in-kind Don't throwaway your surplus, keep Linn Tech in mind.
Contributions such as these, have brought me where I am today
A new campus started, one building complete and another one underway.
An airport on the drawing board, will benefit not only me But, think what it will do for industry and the Linn
community.
Besides support from the outside, it takes dedication from the staff
Rewarded at times with only pride, they serve loyally on my behaH.
My name, Linn Technical College, and my success is growing -year by year
The increase in my enrollment alone, makes this so very clear.
My reputation is superb and known statewide Through my alumni serving industry with knowledge and pride. I'm accredited through North Central and also with the state Recognition earned - not landed simply through fate.
On this my 25th anniversary - who would have thought back then
That I would grow up to be -

Intermural volleyball started in January. There are 12 teams and games are held at least three nights a week. It's a chance for everyone to get involved. The games are played in the high school gym and there are four games in the same night. Each team has 45 minutes to practice and get in as many sets as possible within that time period. Everyone seems to have a good time, win or lose.

Careers Unlimited
Careers Unlimited, which is funded by the Missouri State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, has been in existence since July of 1978.
The purpose of Careers Unlimited is to encourage women to enter non-traditional careers. Information concerning training and opportunities in technical fields is disseminated in several ways. Speeches are given at high schools throughout the State. Career exploration seminars highlighted by non-traditional women speakers, student presentations, and campus tours are held on the Linn Tech campus.
In addition to recruitment, Careers Unlimited concentrates on retention and job placement of women students. In order to provide support for women on a predominantJy male campus, the TNT Club (Today's Non-Traditional Women's Club) was initiated. All women students attending Linn Tech are members of this club which meets monthly for social, support, and service activities. Under the direction of Carol Scherf, Careers Unlimited at Linn Technical College recognizes the great disparity between the small number of trained women in technical fields and the large number of companies requesting trained women. Careers Unlimited demonstrates the College's commitment to technical training for women and its desire to better serve Missouri industry.
BAPTIST STUDENT UNION
Tenna-WOWII
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do, do, do.
Dennis discovers he has a BRAIN I
Thursday night Bible study.
The Baptist Student Union this year has been exciting and we are looking forward to what is going to happen next year.
We are an organization on Campus to encourage and to give support to all Christians, as they go through school. Our purpose is to minister to the spiritual, social, physical and emotional needs of the students. We offer a place of welcome, no matter what denominational ties and we hope that we can help meet needs. Our goal is not only to offer help, but also to reach students who need a spiritual foundation.
This year has been good and we have seen a lot of students really be successful and strong, even through personal turmoil and hardships. But we can all look back and say to ourselves, we've made it! God Bless each student who has put forth the effort and has accomplished this goal in their life.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Rest and Relaxation!!! Student Council doesn't even know what the words mean. StuCo keeps busy providing entertainment for all the students. At the beginning of the year we had lots of fun playing intermural softball, even though it was frustrating rescheduling most of the games because of the rain. Thanks for the fine job Randy. StuCo's most heralded job this year was the survey they took concerning the school food. The survey was taken to find out what foods the students liked best. They also had a BQ which the students enjoyed. And last but not least they organized some dances so everyone could get acquainted.
. Thanks StuCo!!!

Blood. Drive.
TNT TNT - Toddy's Non-Traditional Woman serves as the
women's society for Linn Technical College. Every female who attends the college becomes a member of this active group. Monthly meetings and activities are planned by the Executive Council. Guest speakers are invited in each month to address topics of interest to women. Such topics have included self-esteem, dressing for success, sexual harassment, diet and exercise, birth control plus many more. With the support of the teaching staff and administration this program allows the female to be involved in a vital program designed especially for them.
The women's society is a service group also. Each year projects will include the annual Blood Drive and Cans for Christmas which is a helping program for the needy to the local county.
Bar B Q's, Christmas parties and good fellowship are all just part of the TNT fun. With the increased enrollment of women at Linn Tech, a support group of this type is important. Each female who attends the college has a friend with TNT!

CO·SPONSOR
Mrs. Carol Scherf served as sponsor of the 1986-87 yearbook. As Director of Careers Unlimited, which is a statewide outreach program for young females, this was her first year at Linn Tech. In May of 1986, Mrs. Scherf joined the staff and was asked to sponsor the "Loki" in September. Within her first year as yearbook sponsor she has gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and a wealth of experience to improve future yearbooks.
She appreciates the fine group of students who work very hard on the yearbook staff. "The 1986-87 yearbook staff was a fine group of hard working students whom I really enjoyed getting to know, to work with, and getting to advise. They are a talented group in more ways than one."
