Welcome to the Western Art Capital of the World! On behalf of the citizens of Great Falls, we are glad you are here to

celebrate famed cowboy artist Charlie Russell’s birthday with us.

Each year we look forward to greeting visitors from far and wide as Great Falls becomes the basecamp for artists,

galleries and patrons. You’ll find authentic Montana people here in Great Falls who are eager to recommend their

favorite restaurants, shops, activities, experiences or help you with directions.

As Montana’s Basecamp for Art & Adventure, Great Falls offers you a variety of historic, cultural and recreational

opportunities. Walk or bike on the 53 miles of River’s Edge Trail, experience North America’s Largest Buffalo Jump and

National Historic Landmark First People’s Buffalo Jump State Park, ski at Montana’s First Ski Hill, discover the history of

Lewis & Clark’s epic journey at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, explore the world’s largest natural spring, next to

the world’s shortest river at Giant Springs State Park, snowshoe the Rocky Mountain Front, and so much more.

Throughout the shows, you will witness a variety of artwork that has been inspired by the West and captures alluring

landscapes, rugged independence, tenacious adventures, and majestic wildlife. You will find original oil paintings,

bronzes, photography, furniture, sculptures, jewelry, water colors, pencil sketches, scratchboards, pastels, gun powder,

and more!

The 6th Missouri Falls Fine Arts Show and Sale features members of the Arts Association of Montana whose creativity includes oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor paintings, drawings lithograph prints, ceramics, photography, mixed-media, abstract art, glass and calligraphy at the History Museum. Not to be missed during Western Art Week at the History Museum‘s Ozark Room, the Missouri Falls Fine Arts Show and Sale hosts a raffle to benefit the Val Knight Scholarship that supports 3 student artists. Two of this year’s featured artists are Ruth Franklin and Alex Smithson. Our artists go beyond western art with a variety of techniques, media, and subject matter. The History Museum will sell artwork to benefit the museum’s projects.

This year’s show features a High Noon Indigenous Fashion Show featuring designs by Alisa Herodes, Little Shell Chippewa Cree, Gallery sales, and 6 exhibitions. Continuum | Contemporary American Indian Art from the MAM Collection, Sheila Miles, Edd Enders, Monica Thompson, Terry Karsos, and Lee Steen. Galleries open at 10am with live artist demonstrations. The Out West Art Show is the largest gathering of western artists on the planet. With over 100 exhibit rooms and 10 major galleries located in the Heritage Inn during Western Art Week, there is truly something for everyone. Lewis and Clark re-enactors will pose as models for the Quick Draw and Quick Finish. Supaman performs live on Saturday afternoon, then returns as a model for the Quick Finish later that day.

The exhibit rooms showcase the work of over 200 artists, unique western shops and galleries, and the finest artists in the country. Over 60% of the artists exhibiting at the Out West Art Show and Sale have works in the prestigious CM Russell Benefit Auction. All Out West Art Show events are free. The Out West Art Show has new and exciting events, live music, and opportunities to rub elbows with modern masters. Buyers and collectors from across the US, Canada, and abroad will be in Great Falls.

The 15th annual Great Falls Western Collectibles and Antique Show will be held in the Exhibition Hall at Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls. Make your hotel reservations early! Frank Towsley’s Ruana Knife Display will be a special feature this year. This show holds the largest Ruana display in the world and will be a great show draw. All merchandise is limited to antique and collectible firearms, western memorabilia, Indian relics, edged weapons, gambling items, artwork, collector books, and glassware. All dealers must strive to maintain the high quality of this show with the merchandise they display. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children, and children under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Admission is good for all 3 days!
