Back to School Sunday

Fall Bible Study

Our Book Study/Bible Study this Fall will be “Everybody Always” by Bob Goff.. Chil-dren’s activities and the book study will have eight sessions; September 11, 18, 25 & October 2. After a two week break we will resume for October 23 & 30 and November 6 & 13.

Each session will have a light meal at 5:30 pm followed by the study at 6:30 pm.

Contact Tammy Kelly or Dave Everly if you would like to purchase a book. Books are $8.00 each.

Thank You...

Thank You

We’ve all heard the quote; “To the world you may be one person but to one person you may

be the world.”

We can never truly know the effect that we may have made on a person’s life. VBS is the

perfect example of this. You selflessly and gen-erously gave your good gift of time and talents

to make a day of faith filled fun for our chil-dren.

You gave yourself and brought with you your skills, compassion, friendship and humor and ask for nothing in return. You volunteer for

many different reasons but for whatever reason you volunteer. You gave your time generously without any expectation of reward. Nonethe-

less you receive the good gift of fellowship with other volunteers who you may never have met

otherwise.

Please know that I whole heartily appreciate and greatly value your commitment of time to volunteering in all capacities for our VBS pro-

gram

2 Corinthians 9:15 Psalm 133:1

God gives good gifts! Yee Haw!

Christen Doerzbacher

Please join us Sunday, August 25th

during the worship service for “Back to School Sunday.” We will be pro-

moting our children to the next grade level and praying for our students,

teachers, custodians, administrators and all those

returning to school.

Following Bible Study, there will be a church-wide luncheon. Hotdogs will be provided. Please bring

a side dish.

Kids and parents will be going to the Plattsburg pool for swimming following lunch.

First Baptist Church would like to welcome two new members to our family! Welcome Tracey Brown and Jim Hedgecock.

Tracey moved to Smithville from Harrisonville and re-cently began a new job here in Smithville at the Smith-ville Living Center.

Jim is from Gower, MO and he owns and operates Co-manche Acres Iris Gardens in Gower.

Church Clean-Up Day

We need “All Hands on Deck,” on Saturday morning August 24 from 9:00 am until noon. The Deacon’s are sponsoring a church-wide clean-ing day to help with small repairs and some of those small cleaning jobs that need to be done periodically. All are welcome to help!

Welcome New Members!
