IntroductionTANKER CLEANING SERVICES Natal, is KZN’s top independent Washbay Company in the cleaning of Road Tankers and ISO-Containers in South Africa.

TANKER CLEANING SERVICES Ntl, is a registered and approved Logistics Services Provider to the Sasol Group and complies with all Health and Safety regulations laid out by the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations Act 85 of 1993.

All TANKER CLEANING SERVICES Ntl employees are in possession of all relevant training certificates obtained by accredited Training Centres to aid in providing satisfactory service & quality. Training includes; F4 Spreader 18 Ton Hyster; First Aid; Fire Fighting; Spill Prevention; Confined Space Entry; Incident investigation to list a few. All Equipment undergoes annual servicing and inspections to

comply with all statutory regulations.

OUR HISTORYHendrik Baltasar Grové

is the Founder of Tanker

Cleaning Services Ntl cc

since 1998.

The rationale for the business was borne out of the need for a quality controlled Superior

Washbay & Iso Container Terminal in Durban, South Africa.

On the 28th February 2016 the company founder retired and succeeded the company to

his two sons, Nickolaai Grove (ISO Container Director) and Franscious Grove (Washbay

Director). Both has been actively involved in the growth and progression of the

company since 2007 and strive each day to insure Tanker Cleaning Services Natal stays

the number one choice for ISO container washing, repairs and storage in South Africa

WASHING PROCEDURE: STAGE 1

WASHING PROCEDURE: STAGE 2 FOODGRADE/ SECONDARY WASH

QUALITY MANAGER FINAL INSPECTION

• As standard procedure, remove all iso containers from wash bay • Pick up any seals on the floor and hang up washing equipment • Use Hp cleaner and clean walls and floor , use caustic to wash all relevant area’s to insure there is no possible chemical contaminant

• After stage one of the washing process, iso container then goes to the workshop to be made AV • Only when iso container is selected for a food grade/ sensitive product and authorization has been received from client, the iso container will return to the wash bay for stage two of washing

• Washbay attendant to remove his PPE . • Washbay attendant must get dressed into dedicated PPE from the food grade cabinet. This is the only PPE permitted to be worn. This PPE includes gumboots , chemical suits, gloves and foot covers

• The first inspection is done by the washbay supervisor in liaison with his controller • A dedicated cloth and is now used to wipe the interior • The hatch cover is now also wiped down with the dust caps • A final VISUAL inspection is done by our supervisor and a washing certificate is only then issued once container passed the cleanliness check

This procedure is extremely thorough and specialized. It was created to insure the transition from a non-food grade previous product, can go and load a food grade/sensitive product after washing and AV is completed. This procedure was created to insure all previous product along with all detergents are removed and no traces are left. This is why we implement the two-stage washing and rinsing process. The inspection of the iso container also differs from the standard visual inspection. The supervisor on duty takes a clear glass bottle and take samples while the rinsing process is in progress. Only when the water colour is clean and clear will it be sufficient to pass the quality inspection .

• The controller issue the washbay supervisor information as given by the client • Excess product, if any, decanted after consultation with client if it exceeds 50Lts • Discuss washing procedure to washbay attendant and discuss what chemicals to use

• Remove and inspect hatch cover seals and dust cap • Wash the hatch cover seals, seal slit, airline and spill box . Insuring no excess product remains • Using hot/cold water HP machine, rinse iso container internally for no shorter than 15min. insuring to cover the roof of the tanker thoroughly • Wash the iso container with designated caustic-based detergents, ensure that the roof, airline, RV/PRV and blank flanges areas are properly washed to remove all residue.

• Connect steam hose to bottom foot valve , steam 8 to 10 min • Remove steam hose , drain water from the iso container • Rinse with HP machine from the top of the iso container to help cooldown time re enter iso container and rinse all areas thoroughly. wash the internal foot valve components lastly after all other areas detergents has been washed off • Rinse outer foot valve and dust cap with HP machine

• Mix the pre-determined amount of dedicated food grade caustic with clean water into the dedicated F/G 15L container • Take the dedicated F/G washing brooms and start washing process from the top of iso container • Washthehatchcoverandsealspacefirst,washaroundtheareaaroundthehatchcover/spillbox • Enter iso container, start from the top of the compartment and wash every area of the compartment thoroughly.Followthisprocedurewithallthecompartmentsifisocontainerisbaffled • Whenfinishedwiththeinternalwash,pourdesignatedamountoffoodgradecausticintoisocontainer insuring the bottom valve is closed • wash bottom dust caps with food grade caustic as well as the exterior of the foot valve • Connect steam hose to foot valve and slowly steam for no shorter than 10 min. • After steaming is completed , disconnect steam hose and drain residue soap. • climb on top of iso container and rinse hatch cover, spill box and airline • rinse iso container internally till water colouration coming from manifold is clear and not a milkish colour • climb down and rinse foot valve thoroughly

Tanker Cleaning Services is proud to have employed a dedicated Quality Manager. His role is to inspect EVER SINGLE ISO TANK that has been allocated and is scheduled to leave our depot. If the Iso Tank does not meet the highest quality and cleanliness standards, the tank will not be dispatched for loading. This ensures that we stay inline with our 0% non-conformance policy and that our clients equipment is received at loading site in perfect condition .
