The needs of Pediatric Hospitalists are broad in scope and the content of PHM 2019 is too! At PHM 2019, you will find educational content to fit your needs presented in the following formats:

Micro-Talks *NEW*Micro-talk sessions are designed to be simple, concise presentations told in a narrative style with minimal reliance on audio-visual aids. Each Micro-Talk session will include 3 distinct and fast-paced 20-minute presentations and a 15-minute question and answer session. The three 20-minute presentations will be given in a “Ted Talk” style and will relate to one over-arching topic. Micro-Talk sessions will be a maximum of 75 minutes in length.

Mini-PlenaryMini-Plenary sessions are 75 minutes in length. They will be presented in the largest facility meeting space available and are designed to provide access to the greatest number of attendees interested in the topic.

WorkshopsWorkshop sessions are 75 minutes in length. They will be presented in a traditional small-group setting allowing attendees greater access to interact with faculty and colleagues.

Clinical Quick HitsClinical Quick Hits are 35-minute, rapid fire presentations on a clinical entity, focused on clinical knowledge. These presentations will focus on the “latest and greatest” updates or evolutions in clinical practice in one area.

PHM 2019 Pre-Course Educational Opportunity The Society for Pediatric Sedation (SPS) Provider Course® is designed for healthcare providers (physicians, nurses and advanced practice nurses). This one-day course has been designed to meet the needs of a spectrum of novice and experienced sedation providers seeking both cognitive (didactic) and psychomotor (simulation) based education and training. The course focuses on patient selection and risk assessment (safety), general approach to procedural sedation, sedation monitoring, sedative drug pharmacology and the recognition and management of the more common sedation related adverse events. This evidence-based course simulates the high risk, low frequency serious adverse events that may lead to cardiac arrest and death if not appropriately managed. To afford each participant maximum hands-on time, the course is limited to 24 participants or less.
