All money raised through the annual tournament directly supports the CancerCare Manitoba Breast and Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope. We are proud to say to donors that not one cent of their donation is used to cover administrative expenses. Women and their families whose lives have been touched by women’s cancers can find assistance at CancerCare Manitoba Breast and Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope. By receiving up-to-date information, support and referral to programs, women can make informed decisions and gain increased control over their own quality of life concerns.

With the continued support of the Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Classic, Hope maintains a specially trained, supervised team of “survivor” volunteers. These volunteers are linked with newly diagnosed women and provide support by sharing their experience of having “been there”. In addition, Hope supports a provincial network of community contact volunteers. These trained volunteers live in communities around Manitoba and can offer valuable assistance with accessing print materials and videos, local and provincial breast cancer services, and “survivor” programs in their home areas.

WOMEN’S GOLF AND BREAST CANCER

With one in eight women being diagnosed with breast cancer every year, it is a disease that affects every family and every organization in Canada, emotionally, physically or financially. There is a long standing relationship between women’s golf and breast cancer fundraising in North America. Breast Cancer is the official charity of the LPGA.

This event has fast become Winnipeg’s premier women’s golf tournament, especially popular among some of our community’s most successful businesswomen. The Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Classic for Hope is Manitoba’s premier golf event, having raised over $938,000 for the CancerCare Manitoba Breast and Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope since its inception.

The 2019 Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Classic for Hope is in its second decade of caring, this being the 23rd year we will be hosting our tournament. The fight against breast

cancer and gynecological cancer continues, not only within the medical community but

with the emotional support of the well being of women diagnosed with this devastating

disease, at the CancerCare Manitoba Breast and Gyne Cancer Centre of Hope. That is why your support of our tournament is so

crucial to the fight against women’s cancers.
