The American Pathology Foundation (APF) is a professional society devoted to the business of pathology. Founded in 1959, the Foundation focuses on providing quality educational programs, practice management resources and networking opportunities for its members. Each educational topic within the Foundation’s programs is carefully selected and developed to meet pathologists’ and practice managers’ most current needs and provide them with practical management information for implementation within their practices. 2019 marks the 60th Anniversary of the American Pathology Foundation. We invite you to join us in celebrating, networking and education commemorating this important milestone during our 5th Annual Coding & Practice Management Seminars program.

CME MISSION STATEMENTThe American Pathology Foundation provides modern medical management information focused on the practice of anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as a forum for information exchange through continuing medical education for practicing pathologists and pathology managers in North America, our target audience. The Foundation co-sponsors live seminars in pathology, and disseminates medical management information through our educational programs and other member communications. The APF anticipates that this activity will enhance the ability of board-certified pathologists to more effectively manage their medical practice, valuable time, financial and laboratory resources.

CONTINUING EDUCATIONThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas, Elements and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with the American Pathology Foundation (APF). ASCP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The ASCP designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Non- Physician Attendees at APF’s 2019 Coding and Practice Management Seminars can earn 13 credits towards the American Pathology Foundation’s Practice Managers’ Certification and the organizational designation: APF C-PM. This designation encourages educational excellence within the APF non-physician membership through attendance and participation in pathology and practice management related programs.

APF has also applied for CEU credits through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) for the 2019 Practical Pathology Coding & Compliance Seminars (Day 1 of the Program). Forms to claim credit for CME, CEU and C-PM activities will be provided on site and can be returned to the Registration Desk at the conclusion of the program or may be mailed or faxed to the APF National Office. Certificates are emailed to participants.
