2019Metal Casting for kids Grades K–3 and 4–6Design patterns and create jewelry, ornaments, figurines, stars, hearts, anything you can imagine! Students will learn to understand melting and pouring (done by the instructor) and recycling of metals. Google Fun! Grades 4–6We use Google Tools for many different productive things today, but you can do really FUN things in Google as well. We will do all kinds of Googly activities, including playing Battleship using Google Sheets, creating your own digital “lockout room” and more. Students will create and play with many different Google Tools. Students need a Google account to attend this class. Buckeye Ninja Warrior Grades K–3 and 4–6Buckeye Ninja Warrior is based off the popular television show American Ninja Warrior. Ninjas will receive instruction and guidance in technique and strategy for tackling age-appropriate obstacles. (Ninjas will also receive additional instruction on how to maximize their ninja skills – daily exercise, positivity, nutrition and rest.) Some obstacles may look familiar while others will be new. All ninjas will have the opportunity to conquer obstacles on their own and with their fellow ninjas. New obstacles are introduced each day. The final day culminates with a friendly competition and demonstration, which parents are invited to attend.Brian Crim, Performance Academies, Columbus/$80

Safe Sitter® Grades 6–8 (Students may have completed the 5th grade and are going into 6th or completed 8th grade and going to high school)

Founded in 1980, Safe Sitter® is a national nonprofit organization devoted to preparing young teens with the life and safety skills they need when they are home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting.Safe Sitter® teaches young teens how to practice

important safety skills, how to handle emergencies and how to treat illnesses and injuries. Additionally, this class teaches American Heart Association CPR and how to help a child who is choking. Students also learn important business skills, like how to screen jobs, set a wage and work with employers.Students will receive their own Safe Sitter® Kit.

Hip HopGrades K–3 and 4–6Hip Hop is a blend of several dance cultures and is avery energetic form of dance. This class is designed to increase students rhythmic and coordination skills. It’s unique because it allows you to perform with freedom of movement and lets you add in your own style. This allows you to step out of the box and be creative. Students will learn fun and challenging upbeat combinations at each appropriate level. Emergency RoomGrades 4–6Interested in becoming a nurse or doctor? Put on your scrubs and come to Emergency Room and learn what real nurses and doctors do every day! Splatter & Drip Let’s Paint! Grades K–3 and 4–6Did you know you can create a painting by blowing bubbles? Have you ever painted with shaving cream? This art workshop takes the kids beyond the paintbrush! Discover a variety of techniques and tools to create colorful paintings. Explore new ways to add fun textures and patterns to your artwork. Get Wild with Nature Grades K–3This great outdoor course is here on the KSU Campus and at the pond of Buckeye Career Center. Students will do different hands on activities with nature. Each day we will choose a new area to explore and learn about the different creatures that live in and around the water, meadows and woods. *Historic Schoenbrunn Village Grades K–3 and 4–6Step back in time and enjoy a week immersed in 18th century arts, crafts, skills and history. Students will learn through hands-on activities, such as archaeology digs, bead-making, paper making, quill pen writing, butter churning and candle dipping. Settlers to the frontier were a vital aspect of recording the natural history of the Ohio lands. Students will become those settlers and spend two afternoons under the shade trees learning to paint and sketch nature. Make journal entries every day, and the week will conclude with learning songs while playing split sticks. Spend your CFK days at Historic Schoenbrunn Village living like the settlers did! Hogwarts Americana Grades K–3 and 4–6Campers will attend Hogwarts Americana Camp where they will be involved in a variety of wizarding activities. Students will be “sorted” into houses where they will earn points and compete against other houses. Young wizards will be constructing their own wands as well as learning how to “duel” with them. Students will be involved in a variety of classes typically found at Hogwarts, such as Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration and Magic Against the Dark Arts. Young wizards will also take part in a Horcrux Hunt, Quidditch and other magical activities. Students are asked NOT to bring their own wands and brooms to Hogwarts Americana.Terry McCrory, New Philadelphia Schools/$100

ESCAPE ROOMGrades K–3 and 4–6Students will do a different “Escape Room” Monday through Wednesday. Thursday they will create their own version of “Escape Room” and test it!
