WHO WE ARE
About us
Our Vision
Since the inception of Sanskruti in 2016, we have expanded our practice to four locations, making the power of dance more accessible. We offer a unique experience for dancers of all ages, levels, and styles. Our exceptional team of instruc-tors work together to design a syllabus that attends to the strengths and needs of every student. We offer dance classes for all ages including Bollywood, Contemporary, Tap, Hip-Hop, Semi-Classical and Bollywood Dance Fitness.
In a world where people are defined through labels and limits, we create a safe space in which our students can inte-grate aspects of Indian and American culture through dance. This form of self-discovery strengthens the mind body connection allowing students to deepen their sense of self in a multicultural world. Infusing Westerns principles and
techniques into South Asian dance encourages the unlimited possibilities within, waiting to be uncovered. While focus-ing on the importance of dance education, discipline and professionalism, we aim to provide an exceptional learning
environment, in which tudents can comfortably explore and develop.

Kruti Shah captured the attention of audiences and artists across the globe as a top-10 finalist on Hrithik Roshan’s reality series, Just Dance. The show aired worldwide to viewers on star plus in 2011. Long before her international debut and since, Kruti continuously revolutionizes and innovates as a choreographer and teacher who seamlessly blends the best of eastern and western culture. Trained in Bharatnatyam and Kathak, Kruti infuses Indian Classical forms with her ex-tensive Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, and Modern dance knowledge, to create products that resonate with her domestic and international following. While competing and training in Mumbai, she earned critical and commercial acclaim for such creativity, along with deep support from Bollywood icons, such as Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan, Vaib-havi Merchant, Terence Lewis, and legendary Saroj Khan – who bestowed upon Kruti her sought-after token of honor and respect, the rs. 101 ka shagun. Kruti Shah returned to the US after Just Dance to fuel her creative ingenuity behind Mystic India: The World Tour, a Bollywood dance spectacular. With Mystic India, she toured the world as a principal dancer, choreographer and assistant director. Kruti has captivated thousands of audience members, performing across the United States, Bahrain, South Africa, Canada and China, all the while serving as chief indian choreographer for Bol-lydoll, the extravagant LA-based live musical directed by amrita sen. A firm believer in formal academic and performing arts education, Kruti leverages her own diverse and prolific background – as the sole recipient of the New Jersey honor in dance excellence award from the highly competitive New Jersey state governor’s school dance program and as a gradu-ate of Rutgers University in Evolutionary Anthropology. She has broken barriers for young, growing dancers grappling with the poignant and powerful artistic expression which lies between their Indian heritage and American experiences.

flexibility. This class focuses on introducing the students to abstract concepts, undefined
movement and freedom of expression.

Tap is the style of dance in which sounds are made from metal taps on heel and toe. Tap dance
builds strength in the legs and feet in addition to increasing flexibility in the hips and knees.
This dance form exercises your mind, develops focus and helps you to be sharp in daily work
routine. This class covers Broadway tap and Rhythm tap styles. Our aims in this class is to
improve musicality, rhythm and foot work of our students.
Bollywood is a popular dance form commonly seen in Indian films, which varies from
Indian semi-classical dance movement, regional folk dance, to more popular movements of
dance such as Jazz and Hip Hop. This dance style heavily emphasizes stage presence, facial
expressions and performance abilities while exploring a broad range of body movement.
Genres covered in this class include Garba, Bhangra, Bolly-hop and filmy style.
This fun, high-intensity cardio fitness class is designed to burn calories and practice exercising
safely while enjoying the benefits of a dance class. Students can experience learning
movement and choreography while working out simultaneously. Don’t forget to put in a
request for your favorite Bollywood song at the end of each class!
The Bollywood Technique class offers adults and young teens a chance to explore different
dance styles! In terms of dance education, Sanskruti offers a variety of dance styles for young
students and we believe parents and adults should be given the same opportunity! Come
explore the Bollywood, Contemporary, Hip-hop, Semi-Classical and more! Although this
course touches on various other styles, it is not a substitute for the other dance classes offered
at this studio.
Students will be introduced to the foundation of both Kathak and Bharatanatyam. This class
is designed to maintain the authenticity of traditional, ancient classical forms while exploring
modern, relatable movements. This class aims to improve body awareness and placement,
precision, grace, dancer’s sharpness, and musicality.
This is a specialized class for young children “Ages 2.5yrs- 4yrs”. The class focuses on learning
music and rhythm, moving to the music, creating awareness of their own body and learning
different movement. This class aims to acclimate the little ones to the structure of a dance
class. The class teaches our little kids, to follow directions, be in a group setting, fundamentals
of dance and enlightens them about our traditional culture and values. These goals are
achieved in the context of Bollywood music, dance style and stage presence.
Hip-Hop dance is a style done to generally Hip-Hop music and in today’s world it is one of the
most popular and attractive dance styles among the youth. It not only includes a different
attitude, but also adds a signature styling to dance. Things that are covered in the class are
fast and isolated movements. This class aims to teach control of your body and condition
your muscles. The class teaches grooving, body control, fast and isolated movements and
encourages students to try different movements.
