Laclede County is located in the state of Missouri, with the county seat being Lebanon. The county was organized in February, 1849, and was named after the founder of St. Louis, Pierre Laclède. Laclede County also comprises the Lebanon, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The City of Lebanon is home to many unique shops and other attractions. Phelps County is also located in the central portion of Missouri. The county seat is Rolla, which is also the largest city. The county was officially organized in November, 1857, and was named after U.S. Representative and Governor of Missouri John Smith Phelps. Phelps County also comprises the Rolla, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area and much of the county is included within the Ozark Highlands American Viticultural Area (AVA). The area has many attractions to offer. Vineyards and wineries were first established in the county by Italian immigrants in Rolla. Since the 1960s, winemakers have revived and created numerous vineyards in Missouri and won national and international tasting awards. The City of Rolla also offers a wonderful variety of recreational opportunities for anyone looking to visit or even relocate. There are fitness facilities, golf courses, go carts, parks with lakes for fishing and more! The area is perfect for fishing canoeing and enjoying the pristine beauty of the Ozarks. Pulaski County is another county in the beautiful state of Missouri. The county seat is Waynesville. The county was officailly organized in 1833 and named after Kazimierz Pułaski, a Polish patriot who died fighting in the American Revolution. Pulaski County is also the site of Fort Leonard Wood, a U.S. Army installation base. It comprises the Fort Leonard Wood, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area as well. Pulaski County is known for beautiful river ways, the famous Trail of Tears and the Civil War and Military history.
