ACCOMMODATION:Livigno has a huge array of accommodation to choose from depending on your likes.

For families we suggest apartments because there is more space than in a B & B or hotel. And the possibility to save some money by eating in on odd nights – or having food available for hungry skiers at all times, is handy to have and cost saving.

But if you are just a couple or a single then choose from one of our 3* or 4* B & B’s or hotels. They are all in the Pedestrian Zone – where everything happens and close to the ski slopes.

DINING IN LIVGNO:Eating out in Livigno is a fabulous experience with everything from Goulash soup on the slopes to Gourmet dining and of course – It is Italy – so the Pasta is plentiful with good Vino . There’s nothing better than a welcoming Trattoria for some great Italian Hospitality!

Day 1: 28 December 2019Arriving in Zurich you will be met and whisked off to Livigno. A beautiful 3 hour drive takes you through valleys, past lakes and ultimately up to the winter wonderland of Livigno at 1815m with slopes going up to 3000m.

After settling into your accommodation you will be taken to be fitted for your skis, boots and snowboards – then taken for an orientation walk, so you will feel at home knowing where everything is.

Day 2: 29 December 2019 This morning at 09h00, ski and snowboard lessons begin and a great way to make new friends and have fun. The afternoon is yours to practice your new moves, or maybe you want to explore the village a bit more. The 4 bus routes which run for free will take you anywhere you want in the village.

This evening we meet for our Welcome evening and it is great fun!! 10 Pin bowling and Pizzas. It is a fantastic way for new friendships to be made for the week ahead.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:

Day 3: 30 December 2019 to Day 6: 2 January 2020The mornings are filled with lessons which have now turned everyone into gliding skiers and racing snowboarders. It is exciting to find yourself whizzing confidently down the slopes, able to tackle many of the runs on either side of the valley.

And non skiers will have had the opportunity to take the beautiful walks along the river up to the top of the valley or to the lake below the village. They are beautifully prepared and gentle. And then there is snow shoeing – the new BIG thing and anyone can do it.

If you take the public bus you can also visit the historic Bormio, 40 minutes away it brings you a lively Pedestrian shopping area, frescoed churches and wonderful coffee shops.

Or would you like to indulge in a day at the beautiful Thermal Baths of Bagna Vecchi which date back to the Middle Ages – it is like a movie set and such a special experience, everyone wants to go.

And there is the opportunity to go to St Moritz and take the Glacier Express on the breathtaking ride to Tirano – truly a spectacular day out and an Iconic travel experience.

Closer to home and on a bus and train route, you can visit the Thermal town of Scuol and village of Zernez – all an easy days outing.

And for something completely different, which families also love, you can take your own team of Huskeys and ride through the Valdidentro valley. Then in Livigno itself there are exciting things to do off the slopes. Ski Do rides are thrilling, Fat Biking in the forests, Paragliding and even Ice Driving.

If you want something a bit slower – lunches up on the slopes are a must – nothing like sitting outside in the sun, surrounded by snow whilst you are sipping on your hot chocolate – it is what dream holidays are made of!

Day 7: 3 January 2020Sadly your last day of skiing, shopping, sampling and just relaxing in this Alpine paradise. Skis have to be returned and this evening we all meet for our Farewell Fondue Dinner. Chance to swap stories, boast and compare notes on a fabulous and special week in Livigno!!

Day 8: 4 January 2020This morning we board our coach for our transfer back to Zurich airport where we take our flight home

Day 9: 5 January 2020.Arriving in Johannesburg we have to say goodbye to all our new friends after sharing what we are sure will be one of your most special and memorable holidays.
