FAQ
Is my school ineligible to apply because we already have another Community Partnership School in the school district?
• No, that does not disqualify your school from applying. The center has been asked to give priority to applications from school districts that do not already have a CPS in place. However, applications from districts with a CPS already in place will be considered and may be awarded.
34
UCF CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
FAQ
Does it matter which organization completes the application?
• No, any one of the core partners may complete and submit the application. Think of it as if the applicant is actually submitting the application on behalf of the whole partnership
35
UCF CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
FAQCan we place (ORGANIZATION) on our application since we already have a partnership (unrelated to community school efforts) with this organization?
• If the organization has already agreed to partner with you in developing a Community Partnership School (CPS), then it is appropriate to include them as your core partner.
• Different from a “provider” or “community partner”, Core Partners are agreeing to a long-term commitment. Partnership around developing a Community Partnership School with specific organizations must be secured in advance, with all core partners in agreement about submitting an application.
36
UCF CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
FAQ
Do the letters of support need to be from all Core Partners? What does the letter need to include?
• Yes, all core partners should submit a letter of support that demonstrates a commitment to long-term partnership in developing the Community Partnership School and improving student outcomes.
37
UCF CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
FAQ
Who is responsible for leading the Community Partnership School (CPS)?
• The CPS “cabinet”. The cabinet operates at the 40,000 ft. view to lead direction and sustainability.
• “Core Partnership” involves a long-term commitment with healthcare provider, university/college, school district, and a community-based non-profit organization
• Each applicant is responsible for securing their own core partners prior to submitting their application
