RE: Application for Registration Modification AFIN: 21-00037 Registration No.: 0335-A-REG315
Dear Mr. Glauber:
The Depmtment has reviewed your facility's application for registration modification for the facility located at Highway 4 N01th - 2724 Blmge Road, Arkansas City in Desha County, Arkansas.
The Depmtment has detennined that the infonnation ce1tified in the application fulfills the required criteria for registration modification as specified in Arkansas Air Pollution Control Code (Regulation 18), Section 18.315 and other applicable regulations. Your registration number will continue to be 0335-A-REG315.
This registration modification is your authority to construct, operate, and maintain the equipment and/or conti·ol appm·atus as set f01th in your registi·ation request received on November 9, 2018. Bunge N01th America, Inc. - DeSoto Landing is required to update this registi·ation should the facility operations or emissions change so that the cmTent registration no longer reflects actual operations.
Please maintain a copy of this letter and the application at the facility.

RE: Bunge North America - DeSoto Landing AFIN: 21-00037 Registration No.: 0335-A-REG315
To Whom it May Concern:
Bunge North America is in possession of Registration No. 0335-A-REG315. Proposed changes at the facility necessitate the attached update to this registration. An existing 1 ,000,000 bushel storage tanks will be replaced with a 250,000 bushel storage tank. Two new truck receiving pits will be installed, and the existing truck receiving pits will be closed. A baghouse used to aspirate the receiving pits will be removed. The receiving pits have been redesigned with baffles that slow the rate that grain enters the pit. With the removal of the baghouse and these new baffles, the PM1 0 emissions stay basically the same.
The threshold levels of 25/10 tons per year of PM/PM1 0 will not be exceeded. The associated emissions calculations for PM and PM1o can be found in the attached document.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at (314) 292-2707 or via e-mail at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Christa Andrew Environmental Specialist

Dust Control on Truck Receiving Pits
Bunge realizes the importance of controlling the emissions in and around our truck receiving operations. We have developed many baffle designs over time in an effort to offset the need and expense of installing 'Dust Collection - Filter Systems'.
To this end, we have investigated designs that would accomplish our goal but not require supplemental dust collection equipment. The newest, improved system design will be installed in our truck receiving pits at DeSoto Landing. This new system is a baffle system of basically small inlet hoppers with small swing gates at each discharge. These hoppers are intended to slow the rate that grain enters into the pit, and shorten the distance that grain falls, causing grain to back up above the grating and to the hopper bottom trailer, creating a "choke" condition. By better controlling the speed of the discharge out of the truck, we in turn, control the entrained air associated with it. Also, the new baffle system is always closed until the grain opens the individual swing gates at the bottom of the hoppers. Therefore, dust cannot travel up and out of the pit. The baffled outlets from these hoppers are 12" x 10" with a single hanging baffle plate. Over each of the 14' by 30' receiving pits are 21 of these hopper/baffle devices.
Bunge always wants to be innovative and efficient in all things we do. This process is no different. We feel that this new design paves the way for the future as we strive to also be good stewards of the environment.
