Two kindergartens are involved in this School exchange partnership, both located in Collegno, amunicipality located near Turin, the capital of the Piedmont Region (northwest Italy). The municipalityof Collegno represents a welcoming community where the municipal kindergartens can createsynergies with the environment and develop a set of educational and leisure activities dedicated tochildren in pre-school age, involving the local community and, of course, their Parents. The main goalfor the participating kindergarten is indeed to create the conditions to enable a personal andemotional growth for Children jointly with their families and to offer spaces where Parents andEducators can meet and ensure the necessary conditions for children well-being. The firstkindergarten involved is the "Arcobaleno" municipal kindergarten with 11 early childhood educatorsand about 60 children The "Salvo D'Aquisto" municipal kindergarten, it's a public socio-pedagogical-recreational service, addressed to children from 6 months up to three years old. As the "Arcobaleno"one, it is a small educational structure with 11 early childhood educators and 6 auxiliary workers.Children are divided into three sections, organized by age groups, for a total of around 64 These twostructures share the same educational approach, based on the vision of the Kindergarten as a placebuilt around the Child and his needs. A place where children can be educated and at the same timeintroduced for the first time into the society. The Kindergarten is indeed conceived as a place ofsocialization and emotional growth. The core of the educational project is the Well-being of theChildren. In order to assure the continuity and the consistency of the educational event, theKindergarten promote and assure the strongest communication, mutual trust and cooperationbetween the school and the Family. Considering the centrality of the role of parents and theirinvolvement in the annual planning of offered pedagogical services, the "Arcobaleno" and "Salvod'acquisto" kindergartens have strong motivation in taking part in the project and in coordinating theConsortium activities, in order to investigate how other partner countries, approach the issue of theparenthood in early childhood education. Through this partnership, Collegno's kindergartenseducator can acquire a fresh and enlightened look on their educational methods, taking advancefrom partners experiences. As specific experience that the kindergartens can bring to thepartnership, we can mention in particular the organization of a set of "Laboratories of doing together"like -Coccole con mamma e papà ("mums and dads pampering") -Piantiamola lì (Let's plant it) -Pasticciamo (Blending and messing up) -GeniAttori (ParentActor) The persons in charge of runningthe project will be the Pedagogical coordinator Ms Marina Ruzza of the two schools along withselected educators with sound experience in pedagogical project management.

Preiļi Free school is established in 2015 by parents in Preili region, who perceives education as aholistic approach. Latvian laws accredit Preiļi Free school to operate as school and kindergarten, it isa private entity, and founder is NGO "Preiļi for educated Latvia". In Preiļi Free school we havekindergarten programme (age 1,5-3 and 4-6) and secondary school education from 1sto to 9th gradeof general education. It is a school located in a rural area that makes influence to regionaldevelopment to educational innovation far more important. Their main focuses are to look at otherand alternative pedagogies/pedagogical approaches and how to deliver education in holistic process(outdoors, Montessori, Waldorf, TRIZ pedagogy, open thinking methodologies). This institution hasbeen founded by parents and therefore there is a lot of community and parents’ involvement in schoollife. The idea to found their own school came because founding local families had a clear and specificidea of the kind of education to deliver to their children. They wanted their children to have thedifferent approach to the education process, and teachers wanted as well to work in a different way.Rather that to wait for changes and reforms, they created it directly. In Preiļi Free school a continuousreflection about values, children growth processes and personal development, about the process ofchildren development of awareness of themselves and of the others. Preiļi Free school attention torespectful and supportive relationships and communication parents-educators is essential. It isimportant that everyone who attend the school either children, teachers or parents construct a senseof belonging to the school, to the community, to the city, to Latgale and to Latvia. Consequently, itseems almost natural for Preiļi Free school to take part in this School partnership, as it represents theperfect tool to continue their work searching for innovative educational models and to compare ideasamong peers on the topic of positive and active parenthood. Against this background, thecontribution of Preiļi Free school to the project will be based on 3 key strengths of its model: -theclose involvement of parents in school life and in education process they have in their institution.Consequently, they will be able to suggest some new interesting ideas about different ways ofschool-parents cooperation. -the continuous experimentation of alternative approaches in education. They will so stimulate a healthy dialectic between different pedagogical approaches adopted by thePartners. -the fact that they have already realized an handbook about the development of innovativemethods and tools for outdoor learning related with the curricula and with the needs of social skillsdevelopment in primary education institutions in Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. Their practicalexperience will help to identify the most effective working method.

Kindergarten "Radost" Zadar was officially founded in 1972, however its beginning dates back to1946, when it started to work. Today, the kindergarten "Radost", is a preschool institution with eightbranches educating approximately 800 children organized in 42 groups. 82 professional staff, 6administrative-accounting staff and 44 members of technical service staff are employed in thekindergarten. All members of professional staff have higher education: preschool teachers and healthmanager have undergraduate and the rest (headmaster, pedagogues, psychologist, speechtherapist, kinesiologist) have graduate education. Based on the National Curriculum for Early andPreschool Education, the kindergarten provides regular program of nursing, education, health care, nutrition and social care of pre-school children which is adjusted to the developmental abilities andneeds of children. The special integrated programs are: An early learning of English language andSports program. The National Curriculum for Early and Preschool Education is an official documentprescribed in Croatia which contains the fundamental values and guidelines for the education ofpreschool children including the cooperation with parents, to be reflected on the entire organizationand implementation of educational work in all the kindergartens in Croatia. Kindergarten "Radost"already implements various activities of this kind, like thematic communication parenting sessions, workshops with parents, parental counseling, specific areas for parents to get information about theirchildren activities on a daily basis, included the official kindergarten website. Thus, they are keen toacquire further experience, in order to comply with national requirements, on the one hand. On theother hand, they strongly feel the need to share knowledge and experiences in an Europeanperspective. We think that it would be important for all the actors involved in this project: theeducators that would take advantage from their peers’ expertise; the parents that would be indirectlyget in touch with the international dimension of the education; the children that will be left to becomefamiliar with other languages and cultures. The key people who will be in charge of running theproject: Pedagogue, psychologist, preschool teachers. In case these persons leave their post in thefuture other educators will take their positions in the project (82 educators work in our organization). The kindergarten Radost can bring a true contribution to the development of the project: they put a lotof efforts in making families approach to kindergarten life through a variety of specific activitiesinvolving parents and stimulating cooperation between families and kindergarten. They can thereforebring to the partnership suggestions on -activities aimed at increase parents’ competence oneducation -methods of involving parents in planning and actually implement parts of kindergartenactivities.

Please describe the motivation for your project and explain why it should be funded.

There is a strong need in our societies to develop cooperation and mutual support in the relationshipbetween parents and teachers with the primary objective of ensuring the well-being of children andtheir emotional and cognitive development. To this end, it is critical to build a community of educators trained to achieve this goal.School and families have indeed a shared responsibility toward children which requires collaborationamong them: cognitive and behavioral development go hand in hand.

Only through a harmonious parent-educators alliance based on collaboration and participation ofparents in school activities it is possible to build mutual trust.

This is true even from earliest childhood.

"Childhood" indeed it is not an isolated dimension but an active component of the society. The role ofparents is capital in order to accompany the process of enhancement of children, as well as to “openthe doors” of kindergarten structures and allow the integration of children in society.

The idea of a transnational partnership is driven by the strong willingness to enhance early childhoodpedagogy through sharing experiences with colleagues from other countries, exchanging goodpractices and planning moments of reflection among peers.

The experiences of the Partners of the project are so the first step to define a common path to followfor all the participating kindergartens. They will then "re-build" and adapt the new methods learnt totheir own kindergarten, according to the specific needs of their context.Through this project, educators are led to discuss and confront their visions in structured learningmoments to reflect on the activities related to “Children well-being " following a comprehensiveapproach that includes together children, educators and parents.

The final output will be an Handbook that will be used both by educators and parents. Indeed, educators sometimes doesn't have time to select specific tools for parents to implement at home. Wewill through this project try to overcome these problems: work together with ours partners to identifyand analyze specific issues that we recognize in children development through the e-twinning phaseat the beginning of the project. And we as professional educators would then develop possiblesolutions and approaches to be summarized in the handbook.

This unique Handbook will be targeted at- parents in order to help them and have continuous learning for kids (kindergarten-home-kindergarten-home-.)- educators in order to ensure professional development to educators that didn't have the chance otake part in this partnership

What are the objectives you would like to achieve and concrete results you would like to produce? How are these objectives linked to the priorities you have selected?

    1. To exchange best practices between partner countries2. Improve teacher qualification3. To analyse and to carry out a comparative analysis of activities involving parents carried out byparticipating kindergartens4. To write an Handbook summarizing the best practices identified and addressed both to educatorsand parentsThe educator will see their expertise improving all along the development of the entire project, goingfrom the efficient use of IT tools to share ideas from the planned moments of actual training.

How are the planned activities going to lead to achievement of the project's objectives?

The planned activities are designed in order to lead to the achievement of project's objectivesthrough a gradual pathway that will ensure the deep appropriation of working methods and projectgoals by the partners.Day-by-day, the educators will get into the habit to share ideas, being actors of a peer-to-peerlearning process (in an European dimension) that will enable them to know new realities and at thesame time to focus well the peculiarities of their educational environment. The first six months of the project will be conducted only through a distance cooperation betweenpartners, using in particular the eTwinnings portal. This tool will enable the partners to identifycommon pedagogical issues and specific needs of their local contest linked to the relationshipparents-children. They will so carry out comparative analysis and lay the foundation to improve theused approaches. They will present themselves: the institutions and the people that will take part into the project.By way of example, through this eTwinning cooperation the Partners will investigate1. their respective family models2. their respective educational models3. draft a questionnaire for parents, in order to measure their expectations and their availability inbeing more involved in the project4. their best practices: identify, gather and share them

This first analysis will give them the first elements to design a common project: a handbook ofsuggested methods and activities involving Parents. The core of the project are the short-term mobilities of the kindergarten teachers. They will representan unique way for the educators to be accompanied and trained by an external educationalist (duringthe two plenary workshops) and to get an unique training on the job working in the partnerskindergartens. The training conducted during the mobilities will be aimed also at identify tools (e.g. specific activitiesto be developed by the participating kindergartens or a set of coordinated activities involving localcommunities) able to face the subject matter of Parenthood. These tools will be developed in theHandbook.

The mobilities will be designed in order to deeply respect the different rhythms and needs of theinvolved Partners, but at the same time, in order to ensure that all of them will full benefit of thistraining opportunity and get the best possible impact from the project. To this end, teacher andeducators will be selected in order to take part in short-term mobilities and workshops.
