You may have heard that Bushmills in Ireland is the oldest distillery in Europe. This is the true, as Bushmills has been operating since 1608, but only as the oldest European dis-tillery of whiskey.Ninety years earlier, on the 4th of July 1518, William II of Pernstein and Helfstein granted brewing privileges to fo-rester Jež of Seloutky who owned Green Tree House in Pro-stějov town square. Subsequently our distillery, The Green Tree, was established.After receiving a brewing license, the quality of distillates improved, and Prostějov was recognized as a city produ-cing the fi nest of rye spirits.The unique and special recipes of our legendary brands are our heritage and have been carefully handed down from generation to generation. Thanks to the dedicated and careful approach of our predecessors and their succe-ssors we can proudly say that we have the longest history of rye distillate crafting in Europe.

In 2018 we celebrated the 500 years anniversary of the Green Tree Distillery establishment.

The unique recipe for Stará myslivecká (formerly named as Stará žitná) has been carefully handed down from generation to generation. After many centuries we decided to launch a more refined and smoother vari-ety of Stará žitná myslivecká for our customers, with the „Reserve“ label. Before this special reserve was officially launched, it was offered solely to a closed group of connoisseurs as a limited edition.The base of Stará žitná myslivecká liquid is made of rye distillate, matu-red for 4 years in oak barrels. Naturally dried fruit infusion is added to the rye distillate resulting in an exceptionally smooth taste with a lin-gering aftertaste of orchard fruits. The exact recipe and composition of unique ingredients are strictly guarded and nowadays known by three people only: the owner, company director and master blender.

The super-premium product of the Green Tree Distillery reflects a rich and centuries long tradition of rye distillate crafting. A single barrel was filled by hand on the company’s 500th anniversary. The precious liquid was matured for 8 years in white oak barrels used for Bourbon whisky, Tennessee whisky or in barrels used for Oloroso sherry. Every bottle is numbered by hand and designated by barrel type. This crafted and de-dicated approach underlines the impeccable character of Single Barrel. Due to the limited volume of each barrel it represents a precious additi-on to the private collection of any whisky connoisseur.

Absinth is the bitter muse of artists. Its magical taste is achieved thanks to an alcoholic extract of Artemisia absinthium. The legend of absinth dates back to the goddess Artemis who the plant was named after due to its benefi cial qualities (support of digestive juice secretion, bacterici-dal effect, pain threshold reduction).The mystery surrounding this drink is due to the fact that Artemisia ab-sinthium contains an alkaloid called thujone. Thujone used to be attribu-ted a hallucinogenic delirium which had a creative impact on such world artists as Rimbaudt, Van Gogh, Gaugain and others. Scientific research, however, has proved that the artists’ depressions was not caused by thujone but by their unbridled alcoholism. Absinth can also be used in famous cocktails such as Long Island Iced Tea, Absinth Frappé, Sun Rice and others. There is also a traditional ritual of drinking absinth amongst intellectuals and artists, to fuel their poetic souls.

This pack includes not only 0,7l of Absinth Green Fairy, but also all you need for the traditional, mysthical serving rithual – an Absinth glass, a special Absinth spoon and several sugar cubes. With this equipment, you can serve the Green Fairy as follows. Place the Absinth spoon on top of the glass and place a sugar cube on it. Then pour a measure of Green Fairy over the sugar cube into the glass and set the cube alight. After the sugar caramelizes and the fl ame goes out, pour a measure of iced water over the sugar into the glass. Stir the remaining sugar to disolve and enjoy your inspirational drink.

PERSIKO MANDLE (ALMOND)The roots of this premium almond distillate date back to 1735 when its original recipe was developed. The pharmacist Michael Storch, who was the owner of the Green Tree Distillery in that time brought a very fi ne wine distillate from his journey to France. He combined it with natural almond kernel extracts and Persico with the slightly sweet taste with almond tones was born. The unique taste experience is underlined by the premium bottle design.

LEGIONÁŘ RUMIn honor of all Czechoslovak legionnaires who showed incredible bravery and determination in the fi ght for justice and freedom of Czechoslovakia in WW I, we made Rum Legionář. It is based on a high-quality fi ve-year-old Panama rum, which refers to the long legionaries‘ journey back to their homeland across the Pacifi c and Atlantic Ocean, which led them also over this Central American country. This rum has a silky texture, a plea-santly delicate, slightly sweet, yet distinctive taste with a hint of vanilla, caramel and a woody tones given by the long maturation in barrels.

L. V. GRIOTTESweet pleasure from sour cherry juice. The cherry brandy produced in Prostějov is unique in its sweet taste with a slightly bitter almond edge. It is the only cherry brandy on the market, that comprises 34 % real fruit juice from carefully selected cherries.

A bitter-sweet herbal liqueur, the same color as rosé wine, prepared according to the monastery´s traditional recipe. It contains of wine distillate and 19 carefully chosen herbs. They not only underwent maceration (which is a standard method for obtaining herbal extract) but also distillation, which makes the product absolutely unique.

It originates from Prostějov Starorežná and it contains a 35% alcohol content. It is made from a selection of six herbs, the main one being anise, just as it is in Starorežná. Anise is a fragrant healing spice with stimulating effects. It provides energy, stimulates the appetite, impro-ves digestion, helps with breathing di- fficulties and encourages male passion. Prostějov anise has truly been considered a panacea since commencement of its production in Prostě- jov at the end of the 17th century.

PROSTĚJOVSKÁ REŽNÁ

A jewel amongst drinks. This spirit, based on a traditional recipe, is still produced from eleven selected herbs, spices and seeds. An important component is the aromatic and medicinal spice anise. It has stimulating effects, provides energy and improves digestion.This is why this spirit is considered a panacea for many ills. The recipe dates back to the end of the 17th century when pharmacist Michael Storch became the owner of the The Green Tree Distillery. He skillfully combined his medical and wine-making knowledge to develop a spirit made from rye base. That’s why it is called “ryž” in Moravia, later being called “režná” and then “starorežná”. The alcohol content is 40%.

GENUINE SPIRITSWe have been distilling since 1518. Our spirits are made entirely from genuine high-quality fruity distillates. We do not dilute them with other spirits, and they contain only ethanol that has been produced during an initial fermentation process. To adjust the optimal level of alcohol, we add softened drinking water. After liquors have reached the desired alcohol content of at least 42%, we store them in cellars for further ma-turing. This process takes place prior to bottling and it is critical in order to reach an optimal balance of flavours and aromas. It is, in fact, a basic feature of a good spirit that consumers feel a smooth fruity flavour on the tongue, while at the same time experiencing a long-lasting taste in the throat. This is why we recognize and treasure individual undertones of flavours and aromas typical of the fruit.

Hanácká vodka is the leader in the Hanácká range of products. Quali-ty Prostějov water, soft molasses spirit, multiple filtration through fine charcoal and a perfect production process are the foundation of its puri- ty.
