This season will be bittersweet for our symphony. As we say goodbye to our Maestro Brian Groner, we begin the search for our new Music Director. Brian left behind an amazing legacy, and now we face the challenge of finding someone to bring us forward.
It was a long process, but we finally have our candidates narrowed down to four finalists. We can’t wait for you to meet them! They are all skilled conductors, dedicated educators, and passionate community advocates. Each will share both new music and classics at their concert. Each will work with a soloist and get to know our orchestra both on and off stage. As we make our decision in hiring a new Music Director, we ask for input from everyone associated with our organization. Our musicians will have meetings, rehearsals, and concerts as they get to know the candidates while continuing to exhibit the amazing music you’ve come to expect. Our board and staff will discuss future seasons with the candidates as we share our vision and plan future collaborations. Our audience will join us in the hall, but also out in the community, as we offer performance and education events which will give all of us a chance to interact with each candidate. Each concert will be followed up by collecting your thoughts and comments. Let us hear from you! We will have surveys in the concert hall and online, and we greatly value your input. We’re grateful for the 23 years of artistry and dedication Maestro Groner contributed to this community, and we look forward to our next chapter under the baton of our new Music Director.
WELCOME TO OUR2018/19 SEASON!
