General Information

Instructors: Courses are taught by experienced HVAC professionals using materials developed exclusively by our staff.

Language: Classes, presentations and student documentation are provided in English. Please inform us if

translation is required. Lodging: For classes at our Academy (Ohio), sleeping rooms are blocked at a local hotel (special pricing).

Breakfast included with room. There is complimentary shuttle service available from the hotel to and from the Academy, upon request from the student. Students attending regional classes are responsible for their own lodging. Detailed information will be provided in the confirmation letter you receive.

Class Hours: Class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (including last day) for training held at our Vertiv Academy in

Ohio. Field and Regional class hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (including last day). There is one exception; PCT250 at the Academy ends at 12:00 noon the last day.

Homework is assigned. Travel: When making travel arrangements, be aware students must attend course in full to obtain credit.

Departure flights, if applicable, should be no earlier than 3 hrs. after end of class. The closest airport to Vertiv Academy is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).

What to Wear: Dress is business casual (shorts, T-shirts as outer wear, and open-toed shoes are not

acceptable). Long sleeved shirts and long pants made of natural fibers (i.e., cotton) are required to enter our Lab area per the Safety Policy.

Registration: Fill out the registration form carefully and completely. Please provide legal name. The information

provided will be used to create your certificate of completion and entered in our training database. Payments: If you are paying by credit card, do not include credit card information on the registration

form (type words “credit card” under Comments). Credit card payments can be made by calling the phone number found on the bottom of your invoice. There is a 2% surcharge for credit card payments.

Liebert reserves the right to change class dates or cancel classes. If we have not reached our

minimum number of students for holding class 45 days prior to the scheduled class date, the class will be subject to cancellation.

Discounts: Multiple Students: We offer a 5% discount for additional students from the same company

attending the same class. The first student pays the full price. This does not apply to the already discounted classes at the Academy.

Cancellation Policy: We allow cancellation up to five working days prior to the start of class without penalty. If less than five

working days, a penalty of 20% of the class registration fee will be charged per student. Since many of our courses have a waiting list, we charge the full course fee when someone fails to attend without informing us or cancels once the class has started. Description:

This course is dedicated to the Deluxe System 3 and Challenger3000 with AM/AG controls, and current small systems (MiniMate2 and DataMate) as well as the SRC and CMS products. Participants will learn via presentations combined with hands-on training using factory-built simulators. The simulator is constructed with an actual main control board, AM/AG control, fuse board and a temperature / humidity sensor. The small systems simulators is constructed with actual main control board and wall control. Topics covered are operations, programming, maintenance, service, and troubleshooting. This is a fully tested program, which consists of knowledge base and practical skills (passing is 80% or better). Homework assignments are part of the class curriculum.

Who Should Attend: Course is for the experienced HVAC technician responsible for startup and warranty repairs on the MiniMate2 and DataMates. All Factory Trained Technicians (FTT) must attend this course or take the PCT106 Refresher every five years to maintain Liebert FTT status on these products.

Description: This course is designed as an online, self-paced review and assessment for the PCT105 course. The materials in the review portion of the online course touch on the major areas of the advanced and graphics controls. This course is broken down into multiple modules with a review assessment at the conclusion of each module. The assessment is intended to reinforce the comprehension of each module and does not count toward the final grade. The review portion does not necessarily include everything covered in the final assessment. The participant will need the manuals found online to assist in successfully passing the final open book assessment.

Who Should Attend: Technicians that have completed the PCT105 course and are required to obtain reauthorization of their Factory Trained Technician (FTT) status.

Format: Participant will learn and be assessed via electronic documentation.

Learning Outcomes:

• Refresh their knowledge of the Advanced and Graphics Controls, as well as Small Systems

Description: In addition to all the topics covered in the PCT206 course (page 5), the students will participate in actual hands-on service training working on actual units in our state-of-the-art Data Center Lab.

Who Should Attend: This course is for the experienced HVAC technician responsible for startup and warranty repairs on the specified Liebert equipment. All Factory Trained Technicians (FTT) must attend this course or PCT 206 every three years to maintain Liebert FTT status on these products.

Format: Participants will learn in a blended learning environment via online training and testing, instructor–led presentations and demonstrations, true hands-on lab sessions covering day-to-day service scenarios, equipment programming and troubleshooting. This course can only be offered at our Westerville, Ohio facility due to the heavy, hands-on lab approach. This course will require the student to participate in an online training prerequisite prior to attending the instructor led portion, which is included in the total price of the class.

Course incorporates lectures with hands-on training using factory built simulators. Description:

The iCOM-S class is an in depth offering covering the iCOM-S Supervisor System. The students will learn installation,

programming, maintenance, service and troubleshooting of the iCOM-S system as well as wireless sensors, gateways

and Room Editor software. This is a fully tested program, which consists of knowledge base and practical skills.

Who Should Attend: iCOM-trained with hand-on service personnel who anticipate a growing involvement with Liebert iCOM controlled cooling products. Prerequisite for this course is the PCT206 or PCT250 and PCT401. Format: Participants will learn via instructor-led presentations, demonstrations, electronic documentation, hands-on lab sessions, programming, troubleshooting and hands-on assessment. This course can only be offered at our Westerville, Ohio facility due to the heavy, hands-on lab approach with actual iCOM-S systems. The software we use in the course cannot be simulated on iCOM-S units in the field office environment.

Who Should Attend: This course is for the beginner through advanced HVAC technicians who are responsible for the preventive maintenance and service of precision cooling equipment, and for students who like the hands-on lab approach to learning.

Format: Participants will learn via instructor-led presentations, demonstrations and true hands-on lab sessions utilizing real Liebert equipment, not just simulators. This course can only be offered at our Westerville, Ohio facility due to the heavy, hands-on lab approach.

Learning Outcomes: • The student will be able to perform routine preventive maintenance on all Liebert Thermal Management

equipment.

• The student will be able to perform routine service on all Liebert Thermal Management equipment.

Credit and Requirements:

• HVAC experience required to enhance the learning experience.

• See safety requirements below: Student will be required to bring personal protective equipment (i.e., safety shoes, safety glasses, long-sleeved cotton shirts and pants of natural cotton fibers (i.e., blue jeans, Dockers, etc.) and are willing to perform physical tasks during the lab portion of the course.

iCOM Simulator

Don’t forget what you’ve learned; purchase an iCOM simulator to sharpen your skills. Whether you just attended a class or you just want to become more proficient with the iCOM control system, the table top simulator can help you develop additional skills prior to entering a data center. The simulator is constructed with an actual iCOM main control board, a large display, MC control board, fuse board and temperature / humidity sensors. A power supply along with Ethernet and CAN cables are included. Touch Screen Display can be added to Part No. iCOM-DS-206.

DS Simulator CRV Simulator (Part No. iCOM-DS-206) (Part No. iCOM-CRV-601) The DS and CRV simulators can be purchased through the Vertiv Academy. The cost for the DS simulator is $2,500.00 USD (if you attended the PCT206 or PCT207 class within the last 60 days, you will receive a $400.00 discount). The cost of the CRV simulator is $1,800.00 USD (if you attended the PCT601 class within the last 60 days, you will receive a $200.00 discount).
