1) Applicant is responsible for following all directions. Save the application file to your computer. Typein all requested information and print. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Write only onfront of pages, backs are not copied. Do not staple pages, do not edit the form.2) Submit completed application to the Career Center Specialist/Scholarship Coordinator at yourschool by your school’s deadline._________________________
NOTE: Different schools have different deadlines in order to meet NVADACA’S deadline of Monday, March 5, 2018. Check with your career center, which received special instructions to assist you, or email ([email protected]) the NVADACA Scholarship Contact with your questions. Applications are not accepted by NVADACA directly from students.3) Each high school can select six in-house finalists to forward to the NVADACA ScholarshipChairperson.
NVADACA accepts scholarship applications from the 30 schools listed by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) as: Regions 1 through 5, and George Mason High School in Falls Church.
Alphabetically, the 30 high schools referenced above are as follows: Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, Fairfax, Falls Church, George C. Marshall, George Mason, Hayfield, Herndon, James Madison, James W. Robinson, J. E. B. Stuart, Lake Braddock, Langley, McLean, Mount Vernon, Oakton, Robert E. Lee, South County, South Lakes, Thomas Jefferson, T. C. Williams, Thomas A. Edison, Wakefield, Washington-Lee, Westfield, West Potomac, West Springfield, W. T. Woodson, and Yorktown.
Seniors who have participated in 1) a Virginia High School League (www.vhsl.org) sanctioned sport, 2) crew, 3) cheerleading, or 4) those who serve as team managers or athletic trainers are eligible to apply. One exception: Students who receive a full athletic grant are not eligible for a NVADACA Scholarship.
All requested information is evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. Directions for Letter of Recommendation

NVADACA Scholarship
Directions for the Student: At least three weeks before your school’s deadline, request a coach, teacher, or other adult who knows you well to write a recommendation. Submit one and only one recommendation, limited to one page, one side. Backs are not copied.
Directions for the Reference Writer: Please describe this scholarship applicant’s abilities, character and any special circumstances that you believe important for the scholarship committee. Please limit to one page, we do not duplicate backs of pages.
Please Note: This letter is part of the total application packet to be sent to us by the School’s Career Center Specialist or the School’s Scholarship Coordinator. You may place your recommendation in a sealed envelope, or not, and return it to the applicant, or pass it to the School’s Career Center Specialist or the School’s Scholarship Coordinator.
