Symposium Learning ObjectivesAttendees at the 2018 SCATA Annual Symposium will be able to:
• Afterattendingthissession,attendeeswillunderstandthemethods,principlesandbenefitsforinjury management and rehabilitation absent of cryotherapy.
• Differentiatethetypesofairwayadjunctsandsupraglotticairwaysandhowtousetheminanemergency care situation.
• Establish and maintain a patent airway and neutral spine alignment in a patient with suspected cervical spine injury.
• Explain the advantages and disadvantages of blind insertion airway devices compared to the en-dotracheal tube.
• Determine when suctioning is indicated to maintain a patent airway and utilize appropriately. • Determine when the use of supplemental oxygen is indicated, explain treatment parameters and
utilize it appropriately. • Assess blood oxygen saturation with a pulse oximeter and explain how it guides decision making.• Afterattendingthissession,attendeeswillbeabletoeffectivelyrecognizethedynamicsofsexual
assaultandabuse,effectivelyrespondtodisclosuresofsexualabuse,andeffectivelyreportsuspi-cions of child sexual abuse.
• Gain a perspective on the challenges associated with and the importance of collaboration in de-veloping and supporting the complete student-athlete
• Take away a model for collaboration that is adaptable for other institutions
