Drs. David & Vernette Rosier, Founders & Pastors
History
Fellowship Church of Praise (FCP) began in 1976 in the home of Drs. David & Vernette
Rosier. In 1987 FCP acquired and began to rent the building located at 318 School Ave. In
1989 FCP was able to pay the building off at 318 School Ave. and own it outright. During
this time the Rosiers’ developed “Leadership Training Classes” specifically designed to
train & equip the leadership of FCP. With this in mind FCP became an extension college of
Christian International (C.I.) and began to offer classes under the auspices of CI. In 1991 Drs.
Rosier purchased the curriculum and name of Dayspring Theological Seminary and became
a separate Seminary. Dayspring had it’s first graduation on February 27th, 1998.
In 1991 FCP moved to it’s present location. Upon moving FCP began to rent out the
building at 318 School. In 1995 FCP paid off the building at 2511 E. 3rd. At the present time
FCP has plans to purchase enough property to build a new facility to house the Ministry,
the Seminary, and Fellowship Christian Academy. Drs. David & Vernette Rosier travel
extensively across the nation and abroad bringing their unique style of team ministry to
the nations. They are the overseers for the “Network of Covenant Churches & Ministries”
(NCCM) which has several established ministries under their covering and oversight.
Dr.Vernette Rosier was the Principal of Fellowship Christian Academy for 19 years, K-3 Thru
12th grade, the school began in 1987 and closed it’s doors September 2006.

The question is often asked, “What is the difference between a Seminary and a Liberal Arts Christian College?”
The answer is due to the difference shown in scope and purpose. The Liberal Arts Christian College is broader in scope. Such schools offer training in many fields that lead to a variety of professional careers.
SEMINARY is a school of higher education designed to offer
professional training for Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Educational Directors, and those engaged in other forms of Christian educational work. Upon completion of all Academic Courses required for degree work, graduates are equipped with skills to teach in Christian K-12 schools, organize and pastor churches, as well as other fields of service in the life of the church.
What are the advantages of a Seminary?
Primarily, there is a spirit of devotion among the students as each workstoward a common goal - a more fruitful ministry.
Secondly, there is a financial advantage. The cost of a seminary education is only a fraction of the amount required to obtain a Liberal Arts degree.
And, Thirdly, the focus of academics helps the student to achieve an educational goal while serving the church.
v
WHAT IS A SEMINARY?
Our student body is open to all denominations. We hold the philosophy that a student
with a High School education may study for a bachelor degree in Biblical Studies without
a prerequisite bachelor degree in the arts and sciences. We are not in competition with
other channels of education. We offer this service for those who desire and feel a need
for it.
“The degree programs of this seminary are designed solely for religious vocations.”
Dayspring Theological Seminary admits students of any race or color, national, or ethnic
origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to students
at the school. We do not discriminate in our administration or educational policies.
Dayspring Theological Seminary is guided by three major purposes:
1. To offer professional training for Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers,
Educational Directors, and those engaged in various forms of Christian Educational
services.
2. To equip Christian Leaders with the skills to make them more effective in their
service of the Word of God, and in their personal walk with the Lord.
3. To provide quality education to all serious Bible students, regardless of the students’
educational level prior to enrollment. The goal of the seminary is to challenge the
student to progress from their present level of learning to the next higher level.
Through its educational opportunities, Dayspring Theological Seminary is an outreach
ministry in itself. Through the teaching of the Truth as it is presented in the Holy
Scriptures, the seminary is able to participate in the Harvest of Souls for Christ through
the many Christians who use their acquired knowledge to better serve the Kingdom of
God.
vi
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
1. WE BELIEVE the Scriptures to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God.
2. WE BELIEVE in one God, eternal and self existent, manifested to man as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary.
4. WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His blood as a sacrifice for our sins, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High.
5. WE BELIEVE in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, and to empower the believer.
6. WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin.
7. WE BELIEVE that man can be justified only by grace through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
8. WE BELIEVE that water baptism identifies us with the death and burial of Christ, and that we should arise to walk in newness of life.
9. WE BELIEVE that the true Church is composed of such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
10. WE BELIEVE in the personal, literal second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge both the quick and the dead.
11. WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of all the dead.
vii
STATEMENT OF FAITH
STATEMENT OF FAITH
12. WE BELIEVE in everlasting blessedness for the believer, with judgment and everlasting punishment for the unbeliever.
13. WE BELIEVE that Christ wants the members of His Church to carry the Good News of the Kingdom into all the world.
14. WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is at work today within the Church through His gifts, fruits, and anointed ministers.
15. WE BELIEVE that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to every believer and need to be activated and exercised to fulfill their divine purpose of blessing the body of Christ.
16. WE BELIEVE in the baptism of the Holy Spirit wherein the Spirit is sent to gift each believer with their own private prayer/praise language used to edify themselves, and that such a baptism empowers believers to be effective for Christ.
17. WE BELIEVE in divine healing of the body as part of the atoning work of Jesus Christ. This healing can be received and also ministered to others by various divine giftings.
18. WE BELIEVE in the full function of the five-fold ministry which was given to perfect and equip the saints so they can enter into the work of their ministry, thereby edifying the whole body of Christ.
19. WE BELIEVE in the present day ministries of the apostles and prophets, which Christ has set in the Church as foundational and revelational ministries. We believe these two ministries will be restored to function in full power and authority before the literal second coming of Christ.
20. WE BELIEVE that the Church of Jesus Christ is God’s instrument to establish and extend God’s Kingdom until the literal coming of Christ to reign over all the earth.
21. WE BELIEVE in the autonomy of each local church and that itinerant ministries should also be based out of and related to a local church with accountability to a senior minister.
viii
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Bible-Centered
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and a proper understanding of its content and message is essential for the integration of all knowledge. Dayspring places
the Bible at the core of its curricula.
ix
Admission Requirements
Individuals desiring to enroll in Dayspring Theological Seminary must make application to the Office of the Registrar. Application forms may be obtained by request from the Administration Office. The applicant must submit a complete application and the appropriate application fee in order to apply.
Admission Policies
Students applying for admission for the first time will need to submit: 1.) A
completed application along with a $20.00 non-refundable application fee. 2.) A High school transcript or GED to the Office of Admissions. Students transferring from other colleges, universities, seminaries, etc., must have their official transcripts submitted FROM all schools attended.
NOTE: an official transcript is one mailed from the previously attended school directly to DTS. Hand carried transcripts are not official. All transcripts become a part of the student’s permanent record and may not be returned.
Advanced Standing Credit
An applicant may be given advanced standing credit (ASC) through credit assessment of experience gained in an appropriate discipline (i.e. Counseling, Bible Language Skills, Pastoral Practice, etc). An applicant must earn a minimum of thirty-two (32) semester hours through Dayspring Theological Seminary to receive any degree offered regardless of advanced standing credits. There will be a one time administration fee of $20.00 for the assessment of all documentation presented for advanced standing credits.
Transfer Credits
NOTE: DTS reserves it’s sovereign right to accept or not accept credits from other Institutions. Likewise, DTS can not guarantee the acceptance of it’s credits by other Institutions.
Evaluation of transfer credits is made only from “official transcripts” after the student has been accepted for admission. Students will receive full credit for equivalent courses after course evaluation. Only grades of “C” or better can be transferred and if the content of the courses meet the requirements of CPCA and DTS. Transfer students may receive credit on a provisional basis for previous work under certain circumstances.
1
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Course Completion
Each 32 credit hour section (8 courses) is designed to be equivalent to a minimum of one academic year (nine months) of study. However, many students are often able to complete their correspondence program requirements in a much shorter time span since all work is self paced with the individual student determining the length of time required to complete the program requirements. Correspondence courses are allotted 16 weeks to complete.
Due to the fact that schedules vary with each individual, it is impossible to set a general estimated time frame needed to complete the required course of study for graduation.
NOTE: In extenuating circumstances, a thirty (30) day extension may be granted. This extension must be cleared through the Registrar.
Unit of Credit
The unit of credit is assigned by semester hour. A semester hour is determined by the work completed and not by the amount of time it takes to complete the work.
DVD’s/CD’s
Some courses will include information on DVD, CD or Mp3 and will be furnished with the appropriate paperwork which will contain classroom lectures on the required courses.
Student Classification
Freshman: 1 - 32 completed credit hours
Sophomore: 33 - 64 completed credit hours
Junior: 65 - 96 completed credit hours
Senior: 97 - 128 completed credit hours
Grievance ProceduresStudents who wish to appeal a final grade should:
1. Meet with the Instructor
2. If not resolved, write a letter to Vice-president

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
ACADEMIC POLICIES
Standards of Academic Progress
College Credit and Vocational Credit - In determining
academic progress, college credit, vocational credit,
and preparatory credit are combined. “Attempted”
is defined as all courses in which a student has
processed an official registration and in which a
student remains enrolled after the drop period.
Transfer courses, courses taken for audit, and
courses for which a student receives a refund will not
be included in the determination of academic
standing.Attendance
Students who have three (3) unexcused
absences' from class shall be in danger of
administrative action, they should understand
that they are responsible for the academic
consequences of absence and that instructors
may set specific policies about absence for
individual courses.
Dayspring’s grading system has been developed so as to promote learning and indicate individual effort expended. A letter grade system is given but is not based on the old, traditional memory testing system. DTS has evaluated current trends in grading and has adopted a policy compatible with its self-teaching program. DTS’s grading procedures would be best described as a modified credit/no-credit system.
Policies - The following grades are used:
A - (94-100) = excellent 4 grade points
B - (93-85) = average 3 grade points
C - (84-74) = passing 2 grade points
D - (73-65) = passing 1 grade point
F - (64-0) = not passing 0 grade point
I - = incomplete 0 grade point
“A” - The grade “A” is earned by the student who does all the work according to the requirements in each
course, fills in the blanks accurately, and gives exceptional answers on the essay assignments.
“B” - The grade of “B” is earned by the student who does all the work according to the requirements in each
course, fills in the blanks with reasonable accuracy, and gives quality answers on the essay assignments.
“C” - The grade of “C” is earned by the student who does all the work according to the requirements in each
course, fills in the blanks with some degree of accuracy, and gives passable answers on the essay
assignments.
“D” – The grade of “D” is earned by the student who does all the work according to the requirements in each
course, fills in the blanks with some degree of accuracy, and gives passable answers on the essay
assignments.
“F” – The grade of “F” is earned by the student whose work is not acceptable quality to receive the grade of “D”
or higher.
“I” - An incomplete (no credit) means either:
(1) The student’s work is not of acceptable quality to receive the grade of “C” or higher, or
(2) The student has failed to complete some of the work in a course (even though the score may be
high enough to earn a “C” or above without it).
If the course is incomplete, it will be returned to the student for improvement/completion, and an “I” will be
recorded on their record.
The student has 30 days to improve/complete a course that has been returned “incomplete”. If the course is not
returned to DTS within 30 days, a “W” (withdrawal) will be recorded. In the event the incomplete course is
received after 30 days, the final grade will be reduced by one letter grade.
“W” - If the student does not return a course within 12 months after having received it, the student is considered
withdrawn from that course. A “W” is recorded on the student’s transcript. A withdrawal student forfeits
all tuition and academic credit for the unfinished course.
Course work that is poorly written will be graded down even if the answer is correct. These policies apply to both
on-campus, distance learning, and correspondence students.
3
GRADING POLICIES
Course materials emphasize the importance of personal research in the Scriptures and encourage the clarification of biblical absolutes. Our content questions generally require short answers which are either correct or incorrect. The spiritual assignments, on the other hand, are more subjective, and may be answered in one of several ways depending on the personal viewpoint and doctrinal beliefs of each student. Because several “answers” may be acceptable, we prefer to use the terms adequate and inadequate, rather than right and wrong, when referring to student responses to these thought questions.
An adequate answer fulfills the following guidelines: a) The student must directly address the question. Their reply should not be evasive nor ambiguous. b) The student should be careful to give equal treatment to all parts of the assignment. c)The student’s response should not deviate from the assignment nor include matter that is unrelated to the assignment. d) The student’s reply should reflect thought and research, including solid scriptural support whenever applicable. e) The student’s response should be clear, coherent, and have good progression of thought. f) The student should observe the minimum word requirement for each assignment.
An inadequate answer is one that is deficient in one or more of these areas: a) Is not logical in its presentation, b) Is not based on a consistent interpretation of the Bible, c) or reflects poor communication skills (illegible, grammatically incorrect, etc.).
Remember, you are not graded on whether you agree with the seminary. The student is never asked to believe any controversial doctrine--only to study with an open mind and then give his honest, heart-felt convictions and conclusions on the matter.
Students are asked to make a sincere appraisal of each course taken. The student is asked to give positive commendations and suggestions for improvement of the course. The student is asked to express their own opinion of how the course benefited them personally. Periodically, DTS courses are evaluated and upgraded and the comments of the student are of great value in this effort. DTS needs to have feedback from students in order to know how to improve the courses in a way that will most benefit the individual student. Points are deducted in course grading if this assignment is not completed.

GRADING GUIDELINES
COURSE EVALUATION
The Evaluation Committee will determine every transferable credit earned by the
student and allow the student every possible credit towards their degree. Quite often,
students lose credits because they are unaware of their transferability.
(Note: Quarter hour credits are equivalent to 2/3 the value of semester hour credits.)
If you have attended any college, university, seminary, extension school, trade school,
etc., and desire an evaluation of credits earned, then contact each institution and
request a copy of your transcript be sent directly to: DTS ATTN: REGISTRAR. ALL
TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SENT BY THE INSTITUTION ISSUING THEM TO BE VALID!
If the student’s transcripts are not received within 60 days of official enrollment date,
the evaluation will be completed based on the documents available to DTS at the time
of the evaluation. An updated evaluation at a later date is available for a fee of $20.00.
Note: DTS reserves it’s sovereign right to accept or not accept credits from
other Institutions. Likewise, DTS can not guarantee the acceptance of it’s
credits by other Institutions.
DTS recognizes documented Ministerial Experience [ME] as a valid means of learning.
On the undergraduate level, DTS accepts ministry experience as equivalent to college
credit (transferring in up to 25% of an undergraduate degree program which is 32 s.h.).
On the graduate level, ministerial experience can be used to qualify a person’s non-
theological undergraduate degree to meet our graduate school entrance requirements.
DTS bases this policy on the experiential learning credit awarding guidelines developed
by College Level Entrance Program (CLEP) and by the Council for the Advancement of
Experiential Learning (CAEL). These organizations were formed for the purpose of
developing valid and reliable procedures for assessing experiential learning. For a
evaluation of your ministry experience please fill out a Ministerial Evaluation (ME)
application.
There is a $75 fee for the (ME). If no credit is awarded the fee is reduced to a $20
processing fee. (ME) credits earned will not be transferable until the student has
completed one semester (16sh) of DTS course work. To be considered, your (ME)
application must be received within 90 days after your official date of enrollment.

Degree Seeking Undergraduate Student
A degree seeking undergraduate student is one who wishes all course work to
be credited towards the awarding of a degree and allows all educational records
to be released to Dayspring Theological Seminary for a full evaluation. The
degree student must fulfill all academic requirements within the allotted time
frame.
Non-Degree Seeking Undergraduate Student
A non-degree seeking student is one who wishes to enroll in courses and receive
college credit for them, but does not wish to have them applied toward a
degree program. This student is allowed to select any course from the DTS
curriculum, but if they wish to have their courses applied toward a degree, they
must make application, and pay all fees within 3 years of course completion.
Costs for a non-degree student are the same as those for a degree student.
TYPES OF STUDENTS
7
Audit Students
Audit students assume no academic responsibilities and receive no college
credit. Our audit program allows a person to study the same college level,
self-teaching courses without the full tuition involvement of those who
enrolled as degree and non degree students. Any course from the DTS
curriculum may be obtained from DTS for the price of $60.00 not including
textbooks. If desired, a audit student may transfer to Degree Student
status by:
1. Submitting his/her courses for grading and,
2. Applying and paying the difference between audit and Degree Student costs
(your original investment is not lost), and
3. Requesting transfer from audit to credit within three years. After
expiration of the 3 year limit, transfer from audit to credit is no longer
permitted.
Distant Learning Students
Distant Learning Degree Seeking Students include individuals who take DTS
courses by correspondence on their own, or individuals who meet in a
group session (usually organized by their pastor and church.) This builds
understanding regarding the course being studied and is of tremendous
value to each participant.
Distant learning students do the same course work and pay the same fees as
the on-campus students. Distance Learning Students may be degree or Non-
Degree students. Individuals who meet with the distant learning groups but
do not receive credit for their studies, they are Distance Learning Audit
Students. A set fee is paid for the course and no grades are given for that
person. This is essentially for the person who only wants more knowledge
of God’s Word and does not want any credit or college responsibility.
8
TYPES OF STUDENTS
TYPES OF STUDENTS
Students desiring to enroll in Distance Learning Courses may do so at any time of the year. This program is designed for your convenience. There is no maximum limit on the number of credits one may earn in any given time. Each semester is completed when the outlined course of study has been completed and returned to the registrar. The student will automatically progress into the next semester schedule.
Dayspring Theological Seminary is distinctive in the areas of study covered, course materials used, and in the method by which these courses are presented. Distance Learning is by no means an inferior method of receiving an education. Research in educational psychology reveals that much of what is read or heard is never fully grasped. When it is grasped, all but 10% of that information is forgotten within twenty-four hours.
Studies in learning indicate that as much as 90% of the material studied can be retained and made available if proper methods of presentation and learning are applied. This effective and updated method is based on the following laws of learning:
1. The individual learns by responding, not just reading; therefore, he/she is forced to reply before he/she moves on to the next item.
2. Learning is most effective when there are frequent reviews and repetitions.
3. There is greater retention when the material is presented in small, self-contained steps.
4. Less material is forgotten when it is organized and outlined.
5. Learning is most effective when course knowledge gained can be applied to actual life situations.
Distance Learning study is superior to on-campus study in certain areas. For example 2000 engineering students who had done both at the University of Wisconsin, stated when polled that distance learning study was superior in the following areas:
1. Mastery of the subject ………………………………………………………………… 88.4%
2. Development of Initiative …………………………………………………………….. 98.0%
3. Theoretical knowledge of the subject ……………………………………………….. 77.2%
4. Practical knowledge of the subject ………………………………………………….. 77.2%
5. Development of self-reliance ………………………………………………………… 92.5%
6. Power of expression ………………………………………………………………….. 79.4%
7. Amount of work per credit ……………………………………………………………. 89.8%

Degree and Ministry Qualifications
There are varying opinions among the different educational institutions and religious
organizations concerning the educational, spiritual, and personal requirements for a person to
receive a degree in Biblical Studies and to function as an ordained minister. Some believe that a
liberal arts education with a minor in Bible is sufficient; others believe that a Bible education with
a minor in liberal arts subjects is sufficient. Some believe that a person is not qualified to earn a
degree nor function as an ordained minister without a workable knowledge of Hebrew and
Koine Greek; others do not feel that these languages are prerequisites for the awarding of a
degree in Biblical Studies or functioning as a minister of the Gospel. Some institutions believe
that theological courses of study should contain a certain amount of personal involvement;
other institutions believe that courses of study should be theoretical and directed only to the
mind. Some individuals believe that ministerial qualification is based upon the call of God,
enablement of the Holy Spirit, and a personal knowledge of the Word of God without the
necessity of a college education; others believe that a degree in Biblical Studies is sufficient
qualification regardless of whether there is a divine personal call of God, and/or the enablement
of the Holy Spirit.

PRACTICAL MINISTRY
“Be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22). Workable knowledge is only
attained by uniting theory with practical experience. For this reason DTS requires an average of
one credit per semester in validated practical ministry for non-ministerial undergraduate students.
This is to be a new experience in teaching, preaching, evangelism, visitation, missions (home or
foreign), music, printing and publication, administration and other areas, all in the Christian
context. This program remains flexible as long as your work involves some form of Christian
service, and must be cleared with DTS prior to experience.
A minimum of 35 clock hours is required in order to earn credit. A five to ten page report,
summarizing and evaluating your experiences (what you learned, what you would do differently
and why, etc.) is required. These learning experiences will be supervised whenever possible, and
the time spent in-service must be verified. Detailed instructions and verification for practical
ministry will be provided by DTS.

Truth Content and Communication Tools
The thrust of our seminary curriculum, therefore, is found in two areas: TRUTH CONTENT and
COMMUNICATION TOOLS. Modern theology is rapidly moving away from a content focus to a
context focus; that is, in many schools of thought, it is felt more important to study the twentieth
century context than to study the first century content (the “deposit of truth” entrusted by God to
the first disciples). Some students become involved in studying the opinions of other theologians
and what other books have to say about the Bible, but never make a book-by-book study of the
Bible itself. We endeavor to keep a balance between these two. It does little good, we feel, to be
able to keenly analyze the ills of the twentieth century context if we have not first committed
ourselves to thoroughly studying the first century “deposit of truth” taught by Christ and His
Apostles. God has promised to bless His Word which is the final and all-sufficient authority. On the
other hand, we pervert the purpose of the Word if we do not have a thorough understanding of
our society so that we can relate the changeless Word of God to the changing world in which we
live. Thus, TRUTH CONTENT from the Biblical Core Curriculum must go hand in hand with the
COMMUNICATION TOOLS from the Major Areas of Interest for disseminating these truths.
