O that you would tear open the heavens and come down…” Isaiah 64:1 And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake.” Mark 13:37 Dear Church Family, I greet you in the great anticipation this season brings! As the Scriptures above point to, there is a need for the in-breaking of God into our world where there is hopelessness caused by a constant barrage of bad news, violence and bloodshed from war, sorrow resulting from sin and death, and hate rooted in envy and jealousy of sisters and brothers in the human family. But, during this Advent season, we remember, and we anticipate, that God has, God is, and God will break into our world through Christ, trading our hopelessness for hope, violence for peace, sorrow for joy, and hate for love. May we always lift our eyes to the heaven and always be ready for Christ’s ministry and return in our lives and in our world! There are a number of events this month to help us do just that, from a presentation by MIT Heaven Berhane on her time spent with refugees in Greece; to our Annual Meeting where will will reflect on God’s movement in our congregation this past year, celebrate what God has done, and look toward the future to where God is calling us; to creative, Spirit-filled worship experiences that will celebrate the birth of our Savior on Christmas Eve and celebrate God’s faithfulness to us this year on Watch Night. As always, let’s be in prayer, study, and service, as we seek to continue to be “A people being transformed by God, shining God’s light throughout the community.” Looking to the heavens, The Rev. Dear Church Family,

I greet you in the great anticipation this season brings!

As always, let’s be in prayer, study, and service, as we seek to continue to be “A people being transformed by God, shining God’s light throughout the community.”
