An e-News Letter from DCIS, Adalaj

    From Principals desk...

    January 2017

    Swami-Vivekanda has rightly quoted, Education

for values .should be education for man-making and

    character building.

DCIS is all set to redene its vision and to introduce

Value Based Education as a part of its core

curriculum from the upcoming Academic Year. We

have already started with workshops and teachers'

training for the same. We are hiring the support and

experience of as many experts as possible.

When it comes to Education, we all want what's

BEST for our Children. Deciding what's best,

however can be a demanding and high-pressure task.

After all, the number of years that your child spends

at school will play a pivotal role in the formation of

their character and future. Education without

values is not benecial to anyone. Education devoid

of values may be detrimental to society in the long

run. Values bring quality and meaning to life and

give a person his identity and character. Children

imbibe values all the time from their parents, teachers

and peers. But it is also necessary that we

deliberately teach them the right values right from

their childhood. What they learn at this tender age

stays with them all through their life. Hence

importance should be given to imparting a value-

based spiritual education. It is our endeavor to make

our students not only competent in all the areas but

also to make them good human beings.

Transforming the lives of Underprivileged kids through Sports!Transforming the lives of Underprivileged kids through Sports!

A new initiative was taken by Divine child international school to organize a sports day for the children of two underprivileged schools: 1.Gokul Ashram2.Zundal Primary school

It was an effort to bring together the underprivileged kids by providing them a common platform where they can display their sportsmanship as well as have fun. Sport is one way in which they can escape from their situation, let their hair down and just be kids. It's also good for many aspects of their development, physically, mentally and spiritually.

The students of standard 8th and 9th organized the event with great enthusiasm and fervor. An invitation was extended to the two schools and the response was stupendous. The event was inaugurated by the Vice Principal.A plethora of sports events took place in which the contestants involved themselves in the true spirit of sportsman ship. The students participated with vigor in 100 meter race, 75 meter race, 50 meter race, long jump, standing jump, and so on.The winners were congratulated and given the prizes. Thereafter, the children watched a short-movie and had the time of their life.

The children were provided lunch. They also got an opportunity to interact with the students of DCIS, who gifted them chocolates, school bags, pouches and pencil boxes.

The students left with beautiful memories confidence to win and achieve. And as for the divinites, it was a day to remember. Their hard work and teacher's support made all this possible and also taught the students of DCIS what it means to be generous and that real happiness in life is to make others happy.
