The strength of a developed nation depends primarily on the literacy of the Nation. With this vision as a beacon “Kalvi Chemmal” Late Shri.T.K.Pattabhiraman set out the mission to provide quality education and the fruit of the endeavor was the founding of the Coimbatore Educational and Cultural Foundation Trust. Under this trust Sankara College of Science and Commerce was established in the year 1991. In Pursuit of knowledge is the prophetic motto of the college. Sankara Educational Institutions are ceaseless in their pursuit of excellence, to provide quality education to all the poor in quest of knowledge. The student community and the society today have recognized the inspired effort that Sankara is now one among the most sought after temples of learning.The college has a long academic tradition in scholarship. This is coupled with facilities for the pursuit of knowledge so that it caters to the needs of rural students who aspire for education in arts, science and commerce courses.The Sankara Management is headed by Shri.T.P.Ramachandran, Secretary, an able leader and self motivated personality. We believe in not just teaching but to guide the students for overall development. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Computer Science was started with a B.Sc CS in the year 1991 followed by MCA in 1998, BCA in 2001, B.Sc IT in 2007 & M.Phil in 2011. The Department of Computer Studies has 17 faculty members, 400 Under Graduate students, 103 PG and Research Scholars. All our faculty members are well qualified, dedicated and experienced, providing quality education and opportunities for all-round development of the students. The Department provides placement facilities and train the students for their excellent career. Teaching is combined with activity based learning and audio-visual aids. To enhance the knowledge of our students we offer a Social learning platform myKlassroom.com. The students are moulded into multi-faceted personalities by arranging seminars, symposiums, guest lectures, workshops, collegiums, career oriented programmes, value added courses, soft skill training and communicative english. The Department has MoUs with ICTACADEMY, AWS and PALO Alto Networks.

The aim of the conference is to have a special theme on Smart and Innovative Trends for Next Generation Computing Technologies. This conference could serve as a good platform to bring together Practitioners and researchers of the IT industry, Government, Academia and students of different disciplines and discuss about the trends in next generation computing. A large number of next generation technologies have emerged during last few years which have completely changed the computing and communication world. Today, social media, smartphones, cloud computing, virtualization and many other new technologies has been playing a vital role in our day to day life. This conference helps people across the world to share and exchange ideas of various computing technologies in coming future. We also give opportunity to young researchers to present their research work in a this platform.
