leadership of one or more school district official(s) who have the authority and responsibility to ensure compliance with the policy
• Clearly establish policy for • Public participation • Assessment of the wellness policy
• Documentation of the policy, stakeholder participation, and the policy assessment
• Ensure public access to the policy, policy updates, and the policy assessment
• Create a policy for food and beverage marketing that allows marketing and advertising of only those foods and beverages that meet the BPS nutrition standards

(MVPA) as the level of physical activity desired
• Specified minimum 20 min. of recess for grades PreK-8
• Clarified that “one semester” in high school is equivalent of a half school year
• Clarified language detailing physical activity before and after school and during extended day
• Established a District commitment to support and promote safe and physically active transportation to and from school

• Specified the Healthy and Safe Body Unit for elementary school

• Connected the policy area to prevention and management of chronic and infectious disease.
• Clarified language around indoor air quality and include a statement about maintaining sanitary and accessible bathrooms.
• Listed MA law about idling motor vehicles on school property.

implementation of SEL standards • Specified Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) as
the District framework for support services • Highlighted the Comprehensive Behavioral Health
Model (CBHM) as the preferred MTSS-Behavioral framework
