5 INSURANCE5.1Competitors’anddrivers’attentionisdrawnparticularlytothefactthatTanzanianLawrequiresallvehiclesdrivenonapublicroadtobeinsuredagainstThirdPartyRisks.ItistheCompetitor’sand/orDriver’sresponsibilitytoensurethattheyareproperlycovered.5.2Competitorsand/ordriverstakepartentirelyattheirownrisk.TheOrganizerdeclinesliabilityinanyaccidentcausedbyortoCompetitorsand/orDriversandtheirvehiclesduringthewholeoftheevent.TheOrganizeralsodeclinesanyliabilityforbreachofLawsandRegulationsoftheRepublicofTanzania.Competitorsand/orDriverswillbeentirelyresponsibleforanyaccidentorbreachoflawsinwhichtheymaybeinvolvedandwilldeclareinwritingtotheOrganizerparticularsofanyincidentfromwhichliabilitymayariseandwillindemnifytheOrganizerinregardtoanyliabilitytoanypersonwhatsoever.


5.3TheOrganizeradviseseachmemberofthecrewofeachcompetingvehicletobeinsuredforPersonalAccidentforaminimumamountofTanzaniaShillings1,000,000forthedurationoftheRally.SpecialtermsforPersonalAccident,ThirdParty,FireandAccidentDamageinsuranceareavailablefromtheofficialinsurerstotheOrganizer5.4Competitorstakepartentirelyattheirownrisk.TheAATasorganizerofthiseventdeclinesliabilitywhatsoeverinanyaccidentcausedbythecompetitorsandtheirvehiclesduringthewholeevent.5.5ResponsibilityandRiskInexchangeforbeingabletoattendorparticipateintheevent,Entrantsagree:i)toreleaseAAT,promoters,sponsororganizations,landownersandlessees,organizersoftheevent,officials,representativesandagentsfromallliabilityforanydeath,personalinjury,psychologicaltrauma,lossordamagehowsoeverarisingfromtheirparticipationinorattendanceattheevent,excepttotheextentprohibitedbylaw;ii)toattendorparticipateintheeventatownrisk.ACompetitorand/orDriverwillhavenoclaimagainsttheOrganizerorownersofprivatepropertyarisingoutofanyactordefaultoforbythem,theirservantsorofficials,before,duringoraftertheRally.5.6AnyaccidentwhichmaygiverisetoaclaimunderanyoftheinsurancecoversmustbereportedindetailtotheSecretaryoftheEventinwritingwithin7daysofthefinishofthelastDayoftheRally.5.7Undernocircumstanceswillanyentrant,driver,servicecrew,orofficialadmitanyliabilityorsignanyformofpaperwhichmayadmitorimplyliabilityinanyaccidentorincidentwhichmayarise.5.8Theinsurancecoverwillcomeintoeffectfromtheofficialstartoftherallyandwillceaseattheofficialendoftherallyoratthemomentofretirementorexclusionofacompetitor.5.9Theservicevehicles,eventhosebearingspecialplatesissuedbyAAT,arenotconsideredasofficialparticipantsintherally.Theyarethereforenotcoveredbytheinsurancepolicyoftherallyandwillremainthesoleresponsibilityoftheirowners.


6 ADVERTISINGANDIDENTIFICATION

6.1 AdvertisingThecompetitionnumbers,rallyplatesandadvertisingshallbeaffixedonthecarbeforescrutineering,otherwisethecarwon’tpassscrutineering.Spacefortheorganizersoptionaladvertisingmustbereservedonthecar,unlessthehigherfeeispaid(Article18.8oftheRRR–FIARegionalRallyRegulations2017)6.2 Identificationnumbers-PlatesTheOrganizerswillsupplyforeigncompetitorswithcompetitionnumbersandtwo(2)classplates,oneforeachfrontdoor.IfanynumberislostduringtheeventitwillresultinapenaltyofTshs50,000/-6.4 Drivers/Co-drivernamesReferArticle19ofFIARegionalRallyRegulations,Alsoseeappendix46.5WithoutOrganizerOptionalAdvertisingAnyentrantwishingnottoaffixorganizersoptionaladvertisingshallbelegibletoafeeofUSD400

9 RECONNAISSANCE

AlltheentrantsanddriversareremindedoftheAppendixLtothe2017FIAInternationalSportingCode,inparticularregardingChapterIII–Drivers’Equipments(helmets,flame-resistantclothing,frontalheadrestraint(FHR)andsafetybelts).Helmetspecifications,clothingcomprisingoveralls,gloves(optionalforcodrivers),longunderwear,balaclavas,socksandshoesmustbehomologatedtoFIA8856-2000.


Appendix6–MEDICALAIDBOARDS

AllcarsmustcarryaMedicalAidBoard,whichmustbeusedaccordinglytothefollowinginstructions:

a) DescriptionofBoardandAvailabilityTheboardwillbemadeofwhiteplastic1mmthick,415mminlengthand360mminwidth.Ononesidetherewillbearedcrossandontheothersidealetter“O”or“OK”inreflectivegreen.TheseboardsareavailablefromRallyHeadQuarters.Nootherboards,unlessidenticaltoboardsavailablefromRallyHeadQuarters,willbeacceptable.

b) CarryingofBoardsinRallyCarsBoardsmustbeproperlysecuredtotheinsidepassengercompartmentorbesecuredtogetherwiththewarningtriangletoavoidloss,damageorinjuryintheeventofanaccident.Theymustbeeasilyaccessibletothedriverand/orco-driverastheyvacatetheirseatsintheeventofanaccident.ThepositionandsecuringoftheboardwillbecheckedbyScrutineerspriortothestartoftheeventandnorallycarwillbeallowedtostartaneventwithouttheboardbeingcarriedandsecuredinthecompetingvehicleinanapprovedmanner.

c) UseofboardfollowinganAccidentShouldanycompetitorstopduetoanaccidentwhilstontheroutebeingusedfortheevent,theboardtogetherwithawarningtrianglemustbedisplayed.Shouldmedicalassistanceberequiredtheboardmustbedisplayedinsuchamannerthattheredcrossisclearlyvisibletoallapproachingcompetitors,preferablyateyelevel.Caremustbeexercisedtoensurethatthecorrectsideoftheboardisdisplayedtooncomingcompetitors.Whiletheboardisdisplayedinthismannerthefirstcompetitorarrivingonthesceneshallstopandrenderassistance.Shouldacompetitorhappenuponasceneofanaccidentwithouttheboardbeingdisplayeditmustbeassumedthattheinjuriesareofsuchanaturethatthecompetitorsareseriouslyinjuredandunabletodisplaytheboard.Assistancemustbeimmediatelyrendered.Iffurtherassistancefromothercompetitorsisrequired,thecrewofthecarrenderinginitialassistanceshalldisplaytheirboardshowingtheredcross.Ifnoadditionalassistanceisrequired,thegreen“O”or“OK”shallbedisplayedwiththe“O”or“OK”visibletooncomingcompetitorsuntilthevehiclehasbeenremoved.Obviouslyfollowinganaccidentwherenoinjuriesareinvolved,thegreen“O”or“OK”mustbedisplayedforthebenefitofothercompetitors.


d) Penalties

Competitorswhofailtostopuponarrivingatthesceneofanaccident,wherenomedicalaidboardisdisplayedorwherearedcrossisdisplayed,areguiltyofcontraveningmotorsportregulationsandwillbereportedtotheStewardsfordisciplinaryaction.Competitorsnotinjuredfollowinganaccidentthatfailtodisplaygreen“O”or“OK”shallbesubjecttodisciplinaryactionbeinginstigatedbytheClerkoftheCoursethroughtheStewardsfortheeventwhointurnmayprecipitatefurtheractionbeingtakenagainsttheoffendersbytheRallyOrganizers.

e) Misuseofthemedicalwarningboardswillbetreatedasaseriousoffenceandwillbedealtwithassuch.
