The Canada Green Building Council is a not-for-profit organization that works to lead and accelerate the transformation to high-performing, healthy green buildings, homes and communities throughout Canada. The CaGBC is Canada’s only member-based organization that is purely dedicated to the advancement of green building across the country.

The Saskatchewan Chapter’s network of green building professionals is a premier source for education, training and cutting-edge green building information throughout Saskatchewan. We also provide support and advocacy for green building programs including LEED® and the WELL Building Standard. Through involvement with the chapter, individuals have the opportunity to access local educational, volunteering, networking and leadership opportunities.

GREEN BUILDING PRACTISES:BUILD SASK GREEN 2017 NOVEMBER 1 – 2The annual BUILD SASK GREEN Conference in the fall features education, training, and motivational sessions on green building practices and trends. Attendees will learn from industry experts to enhance their knowledge and build their professional relationships through networking opportunities.

In 2017, the BUILD SASK GREEN Conference will offer attendees current and relevant content on the optimization of performance and operation of existing buildings and sustainable land use planning.

The Existing Buildings conference stream looks at carbon performance as a key metric in place of energy performance and energy conservation measures that demonstrably lead to carbon savings, such as re-commissioning to optimize the performance and operation of an existing building’s system and deep energy retrofits to reduce energy consumption significantly.

The Urban Planning conference stream will explore creative green building solutions designed to meet the challenges of urbanization, including the sustainable development and use of land, planning permission, protection and use of the environment, and design strategies to balance science, aesthetics and community interests in the planning of healthy urban environments.
