2017 Pensacola Buskers Festival Issues Call for Performers Got Talent? Street Performers Invited to Submit Applications to Perform During

Inaugural Event on Florida’s Gulf Coast Nov. 3-5

PENSACOLA, Fla. (July 10, 2017) — Friends of Downtown Pensacola, Florida is seeking family-friendly

street performers of all types interested in presenting their acts during the 2017 Pensacola Buskers

Festival Nov. 3-5, one of many events going on during Pensacola’s annual 12-day Foo Foo Fest. Selected

performers will be offered a travel stipend and performance date options. Friends of Downtown

Pensacola will provide the venue space and promote the event.

Throughout the three-day Buskers Festival, acts from the southeast and beyond are expected to fill

historic Intendencia Street in downtown Pensacola, where visitors can shop, dine and enjoy the one-of-

a-kind entertainment under the shade of hundreds of colorful umbrellas. Admission is free. Tips will be

accepted by performers.

The Pensacola Buskers Festival is presented by Friends of Downtown Pensacola, the Pensacola

Downtown Improvement Board and Foo Foo Festival. Notification of results will be made on Sept. 11,

2017 Pensacola Buskers’ Festival

Friends of Downtown Pensacola, Fla., in partnership with Pensacola Foo Foo Festival, is excited to

announce the first annual Pensacola Buskers’ Festival Nov. 3-5, 2017. The festival is open to approved

street performers beginning on Friday Nov. 3rd from 6pm to 9pm, on Saturday Nov. 4th from 10am to

6pm and on Sunday Nov. 5th from 12pm to 2pm.

If you are interested in preforming in historic downtown Pensacola during the first weekend of the

Foo Foo Festival, please submit your application to Lissa Dees at lissad@downtownpensacola.com by

9/4/2017. Thirteen Buskers will be chosen and provided a schedule based on needs of the event and

event organizer’s discretion. Two back-up Buskers will also be selected, in the event of a cancellation.

Busker Guidelines:

֍ All performers must be preapproved by Friends of Downtown (FODT).

֍ You may apply for multiple time slots and days.

֍ You must have enough performance material to fill a 1 hour time slot. ֍ Material must be family-friendly and appropriate for audiences of all ages. ֍ No materials or content which are blatantly offensive, racial, disreputable or sexual, shall be allowed. ֍ Amplification must be consistently below 85 dBC at 30 feet or less.

֍ All activities must have a connection to art, food, music or cultural interest.

֍ No fires, explosives or flammable material are allowed.

֍ No participation in the Buskers Festival will be allowed without direct permission, and all performances

will be on a scheduled basis.

֍ Official Participants shall be responsible for keeping their area clean and safe during performance, and

for leaving the space clean afterward.

֍ Collection of Tips and Donations is allowed

֍ Travel stipends available with proof of travel receipts up to $350.00 per artist.

֍ Event organizers do not provide sound system, seating, stage or guarantee of contributions

(tips).

Application deadline is September 4, 2017

You will be notified of selection or non-selection by September 11, 2017.
