A CABBIE AND A BONGO PLAYER WALK INTO A BAR (drama)Presented by Brian Fleming and John McDonagh Tuesday, March 7 9:30 - 10:45 am 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

This production presents unique theatrical storytelling drawn from the real life antics of John 'The Cabtivist' McDonagh and Brian 'Bongos' Fleming. McDonagh, a New York City cab driver, WBAI broadcaster, and activist tells stories from back when there were more shooting galleries on the Lower East Side than art galleries. RUSSIAN STRING ORCHESTRAAround the World in 18 StopsSunday, February 5 3:00 pmComprised of some of Russia's finest young string players, this ensemble has carved a niche for itself under the creative baton of its founder and music director Misha Rachlevsky. Its warmth and high energy create addictive performances that stay with listeners long after the last note has been played. “From work to work, Rachlevsky drew from his players gleaming tone quality, finely nuanced timbres, carefully shaded textures and focused ensemble coordination. The vitality and expressiveness the players spontaneously poured into this work made it a jewel.” (The Washington Post)
