WELCOME

The Flathead Valley has seen extensive change in the past several years, with significant growth in both population and tourism. As the population increases, so do health care needs. Kalispell Regional Healthcare is responding to these needs in a variety of ways, including a significant upgrade of our emergency services department and the addition of a new children’s facility. Our pediatric program continues to grow, and we now offer a wide variety of specialty services to keep our young families from traveling outside of Montana for care.

Change is not unique to our valley. Across the country, changes in health care at a national level continue to impact small communities. The same is true in northwest Montana. Building relationships with our neighboring communities has become very important to us. From offering specialty care clinics in remote locations to our telehealth network and

A.L.E.R.T. air ambulance service, we find ways to bring services to these smaller communities that otherwise would be unavailable.

It is our duty to respond to these needs and the requests of regional community hospitals. Through these collaborations, access to health care has increased in northwest Montana.

Last year, Kalispell Regional Healthcare began a unique affiliation with North Valley Hospital in Whitefish. As our two organizations continue to work together for the good of community, patients will experience an improved continuum of care. New services are now being offered to the Whitefish community through North Valley Hospital. We are learning from one another and will continue to help serve the health care needs of our community.

Thank you for trusting us with your care.

Our community benefit effort is a measured approach to meeting identified community health needs, particularly in the vulnerable, uninsured, and underserved communities.

Kalispell Regional Healthcare demonstrates a commitment to promoting health, well-being, and a caring spirit throughout the community.

These activities bring little or no payment to our hospitals, but are sustained because they are valuable to our region and support our mission. As a not-for-profit health care system, Kalispell Regional Healthcare is dedicated to improving the health, comfort, and lives of the people we serve.

CHARITY CAREMedical attention to the region’s most vulnerable and uninsured/underinsured means that KRH provides care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, insufficient health insurance, or level of coverage for the full cost of services by government-sponsored programs. Charity care does not include bad debt.

EDUCATION and SERVICESKalispell Regional Healthcare supports our community by providing education events, community clinics, support groups, emergency and trauma services, women’s and children’s services, hospice and home health services, behavioral health services, and more.

GOVERNMENT SHORTFALLS Government-sponsored health care shortfalls primarily include the Medicare and Medicaid programs. These programs pay less than it costs us to provide care to Medicare and Medicaid patients. The amount shown reflects the actual cost to provide these services above reimbursement.

BAD DEBTBad debt is the total cost incurred by Kalispell Regional Healthcare for service lines provided to patients who have not paid their bills and who have not demonstrated their inability to pay.

We stepped back and looked at not only how we live and love, but how others – those familiar, as well as those who we just happened to meet in the hospital – affect our lives. I am so grateful for the extraordinary health care provided to all of us right here in northwestern Montana.”
