Assemblyman William A. BarclayRanking Minority Member,

Standing Committee on InsuranceNew York State Assembly

Will Barclay was first elected as a member of the New York State Assembly on November 5, 2002. He currently represents the 120th Assembly District, which includesthe Oswego County towns of Albion, Amboy, Boylston, Constantia, Granby, Hastings,Mexico, New Haven, Orwell, Palermo, Parish, Redfield, Richland, Sandy Creek, Schroeppel,Scriba, Volney, West Monroe and Williamstown; the cities of Oswego and Fulton; theOnondaga County town of Lysander; and the Jefferson County town of Ellisburg.

In 2004, Mr. Barclay was recognized as one of Oswego County Business magazine’s Fortyunder 40, an honor given to Oswego County leaders under the age of 40. Mr. Barclay wasalso awarded the 2007 Martin Rose Economic Developer Merit Award for his commitmentto the economic development process by helping to facilitate the attraction and retentionof businesses in Oswego County.

In January 2012, Mr. Barclay was named Deputy Minority Leader, the leadership post hecurrently holds. Prior to this position, Mr. Barclay served as Assistant Minority Leader,Chair of the Minority Joint Conference Committee and Vice Chair of the Minority ProgramCommittee, a leadership position that he was appointed to in the beginning of his secondterm in the Assembly. In addition, Mr. Barclay formerly served as Chair of the MinorityConference’s Hunting and Fishing Task Force and currently serves as a member of the Assembly Minority Task Force on Manufacturing and the Assembly Minority Task Forceon Small Business. Since 2006, Mr. Barclay has served as Chair of the Assembly minorityconference campaign committee. In addition, Mr. Barclay holds the position of RankingMinority Member on the Assembly Insurance Committee.

Mr. Barclay is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and Syracuse University College ofLaw. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk for Roger J. Miner, a judgeof the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, in Albany and New York City.

Robert BellafioreFounder/President, Stanhope Partners

Bob Bellafiore has spent the last three decades in and around New York State government and politics. Bob began as a journalist and covered state government andthe first Cuomo administration for The Associated Press before joining The Business Council.

In 1995 he become Gov. Pataki’s first press secretary and chief speechwriter, and laterserved as director of special projects and deputy chief of staff for policy and planning.He was also a senior adviser on Gov. Pataki’s two successful re-election campaigns and helped start and oversee New York’s charter school program. He founded his communications consulting firm, Stanhope Partners, in 2012.

Senator Neil D. BreslinRanking Minority Member,

Standing Committee on Insurance, New York State Senate

Neil David Breslin, Democrat, is currently serving his tenth term as New York State Senator. He represents the 44th District, which consists of parts of Albany County andparts of Rensselaer County.

Neil has been a community leader for many years. His involvement in civic and socialareas in Albany includes 15 years as a board member of Arbor House, a residence facilityfor women in need. He also served as president of Arbor House for a period of seven years.Neil has been the attorney for St. Anne's Institute in Albany and has done work for Hospitality House, the International Center and Hope House, a drug treatment facility.Further, Neil was Vice President of the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless from 1994to 1998.

Neil currently serves as the President of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators(NCOIL) and is the former Chair of the State/Federal Relations Committee. He is also currently a member of the Legislative Ethics Commission. In recognition of his dedicationand commitment, Senator Breslin has received awards from numerous organizations. In2009, he was the recipient of the Pathways of Hope Award given by the Clearview Center,the Advocacy Award given by the International Center of the Capital Region, the Community Service Award from Centro Civico Hispanoamericano; and was honored bythe Capital District Area Labor Federation for years of service to the labor movement andworking families. He was also the recipient of the 2012 “Voice of Progress Award” givenby the RFK Democratic Club and in 2013, he received the “Person of the Year Award” given by the Troy Youth Association. Most recently, in 2014 he received the DistinguishedLeadership Award given by the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region.

Assemblyman Kevin A. CahillChair, Standing Committee on Insurance

New York State Assembly

As the representative of the 103rd Assembly District, Assemblymember Kevin Cahillstands up for the constituents and organizations in the region. A lifelong resident of Kingston and the proud father of two daughters, Mr. Cahill has close ties to thecommunity and a vested interest in local issues.

Kevin Cahill’s experience in the Ulster County Legislature as minority leader led him tothe State Assembly in 1992, where he has become a proven leader on civil rights, laborand women’s issues and has been on the forefront in the struggle to provide New Yorkerswith quality, affordable healthcare.

Kevin Cahill has resiliently fought to protect our environment and preserve the beautyand natural resources of New York State for future generations. In recognition of his efforts, he was named Legislator of the Year by the Environmental Planning Lobby in 2008.

Assemblymember Cahill believes in the value of providing a strong education to theyouth of our state. He has actively sought alternative ways of financing our public education system and reforming our property tax structure. In a further commitment toeducation, he had consistently campaigned for excellence and accessibility in our publicuniversity system.

When faced with the threat of State mandated closure for one or more hospitals in theregion, the Assemblymember played an instrumental role in facilitating the affiliationof Benedictine, Kingston and Margaretville Hospitals.

Kevin Cahill is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz and Albany Law School. He has worked asan attorney and director of a Medicare health plan and uses this experience to betterserve the people of his district and all citizens of New York State. He keeps the best interests of his constituents in mind and is committed to fervently advocating on theirbehalf in the future.

William B. Carmello, Jr.Chief Life Actuary, Insurance DivisionNYS Department of Financial Services

William B. Carmello, Jr. is Chief Life Actuary for the New York State Insurance Department.He oversees all of the actuarial functions of the Life Bureau and is a department designeeto the NAIC Life and Health Actuarial Task Forces and several NAIC working groups. Mr. Carmello is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Mr. Carmello holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SienaCollege, Loudonville, N.Y. He joined the New York State Insurance Department in 1990.

Sheila Kearney DavidsonChair, LICONY Board of Directors, Executive Vice President,

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel, New York Life

Sheila Kearney Davidson is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel of New York Life Insurance Company. In addition to leading the company’s legaloperations, she also oversees its compliance and governance functions.

Ms. Davidson joined New York Life in 1991 and has served in many leadership positionsin legal, compliance and administrative areas. She was appointed to New York Life’s Executive Management Committee in January 2001.Ms. Davidson is a member of the New York State Bar. She serves on the boards of Fairfield University, Madison Square Park Conservancy, St. Luke’s School, the CitizensBudget Commission and the Life Insurance Council of New York.

Ms. Davidson graduated cum laude from Fairfield University with a B.A. She received herJ.D. from George Washington University. She resides in New York City with her husbandand two sons.

Eric R. DinalloPartner, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP

Eric R. Dinallo is a partner in the firm’s New York office and a member of the FinancialInstitutions Group. Mr. Dinallo represents clients throughout the financial services sectorand provides counseling on a broad range of matters, including government and internalinvestigations, enforcementactions, litigation and compliance matters, and regulatoryand strategic legal advice on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

Mr. Din allo has a broad range of public and private sector experience. He served as theNew York State Superintendent of Insurance (2007-2009), where under his leadershipthe department became a national model on insurance regulation and a respected voiceon the industry’s role in the financial system. Mr. Dinallo worked with the United States Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and others in the restructuring of financial services giant AIG, for which he was named a “Dealmaker ofthe Year” by The American Lawyer in 2009.

Prior to his term as Superintendent, Mr. Dinallo was the General Counsel of Willis GroupHoldings (2006-2007). He was the Managing Director, Global Head of Regulatory Affairsof Morgan Stanley (2003-2006). Mr. Dinallo served as Chief of the Investment ProtectionBureau in the Office of Attorney General Eliot Spitzer (1999-2003). He also served as anAssistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s office (1995-1999).

Mr. Dinallo has testified over a dozen times before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission,state legislators and committees of both houses of Congress on credit default swaps, therestructuring of AIG, long-term health care, bond insurance and terrorism insurance,among other issues.

Mr. Dinallo joined Debevoise in 2010. He received his B.A. in Philosophy in 1985 fromVassar College, and his M.A. in 1987 from Duke University School of Public Policy. Mr. Dinallo earned his J.D. from New York University in 1990, where he was Review and EssayEditor of the New York University Law Review. He clerked with the Hon. David M. Ebel ofthe U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit in Denver (1990-1991). Mr. Dinallo serves on theBoard of Directors of the American Institute for Stuttering.

As a lifelong resident of Monroe County, Vinnie grew up in the Village of Fairport, studiedcomputer science at SUNY Geneseo, and worked as a software designer and project manager for a small database company. In 2003, Vinnie entered government as an aideto New York State Assemblyman Joseph D. Morelle and was later elected to the MonroeCounty Legislature representing Irondequoit, where he lives with his wife and daughters.

In 2012, Vinnie joined the administration of NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo at Empire StateDevelopment (ESD). Vinnie is the Regional Director of the ESD Finger Lakes Regional Office, which oversees New York State’s econom ic development efforts in the 9-countyGreater Rochester/Finger Lakes region. This includes the dual-role of serving as ExecutiveDirector of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC), which isan advisory board that provides strategic direction and funding recommendations forthe region.

Laura EvangelistaDeputy Superintendent, Insurance Division

NYS Department of Financial Services

Ms. Evangelista has over 20 years of diverse legal experience in the insurance industry.She was most recently at Nausch, Hogan & Murray Inc., where she served as Vice Presidentand Assistant General Counsel. She oversaw all corporate, legal ancompliance functionsfor the firm, working closely with top management on corporate and financial issues.

Prior to this role, Ms. Evangelista spent 12 years as a commercial litigator specializing ininsurance litigation at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitiz, Edelman & Dicker LLP. Ms. Evangelistaearned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. inPolitical Science fromTrinity College.

Raymond G. FarmerDirector, South Carolina Department of Insurance and

Chair, NAIC Cybersecurity Working Group

Ray Farmer was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to serve as Director for the South Carolina Department of Insurance November 13, 2012. With more than forty years’ experience, Mr. Farmer received his degree in Insurance from the University of SouthernMississippi and earned his law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

Mr. Farmer served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner of the Enforcement Divisionfor the Georgia Department of Insurance and more recently Vice President for the American Insurance Association. As a part of his service, Mr. Farmer has served for over thirty years on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Arson Control Program, an organization aiding fire fighters and prosecutors combating arson. Mr. Farmer is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a member of the Tort and Insurance Practice section as well as the Workers’ Compensation section.

In 2012, Mr. Farmer was awarded the Herman Hass Award by the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia for service to the insurance industry. Also in 2012, he received a Presidential Citation for Outstanding Service to the insurance industry from the Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia and then in 2014 was namedthe Industry Person of the Year from the Independent Agents and Brokers of South Carolina. In 2017, Mr. Farmer received The Order of the Palmetto from Governor Haley,the state's highest civilian honor awarded to citizens of South Carolina for extraordinarylifetime service and achievements of national or statewide significance. Most recently,Mr. Farmer was honored to be elected the Secretary-Treasurer for the National Associationof Insurance Commissioners.

Mr. Farmer is a native of Atlanta and he and his wife, Gayle, have two children and fivegrandchildren.

Lisa M. FernezAssistant Deputy Superintendent & Chief, Life Bureau

Insurance Division, NYS Department of Financial Services

Lisa Fernéz, CFE, CISA, MCM is the Assistant Deputy Superintendent and Chief of NYSDFS'Life Bureau. Lisa's career with the New York State Department of Financial Services spans27 years during which time she has held various leadership positions while being involvedin overseeing the regulation of insurers in the life, health and property industries.

She was appointed to the Bureau Chief position in July 2015. In recent years she has dedicated a considerable amount of her time on legislative matters, developing protocols for Department initiatives, troubleshooting insurer financial solvency concerns, handling major corporate transactional filings, representing the Department on various NAIC working groups and subgroups, including those groups responsible for Accreditation initiatives, and engaging with industry executives and tradeorganizations. Lisa is an active member of the Society of Financial Examiners and ISACA,having earned key certifications from each organization.

Senator John J. FlanaganTemporary President & Majority Leader

New York State Senate

Senator John J. Flanagan represents the Second Senate District, which includes the entireTown of Smithtown and portions of the Town of Brookhaven and the Town of Huntington.He was first elected to represent this part of Suffolk County in 2002 and overwhelminglyreelected in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.

Senator Flanagan was elected to serve as Temporary President and Majority Leader ofthe Senate on May 11, 2015.

During his time in the Senate, Senator Flanagan has been a constant leader in the fight to reduce the tax burden facing Long Islanders – an effort he began when he servedduring his sixteen years in the New York State Assembly immediately prior to his servicein the Senate. During his tenure in the lower house, he served as the ranking member ofthe powerful Ways and Means Committee where he fought for meaningful tax relief.

An ardent critic of late state budgets, Senator Flanagan has consistently fought for budgetreforms to improve New York’s financial health while preventing burdensome tax increases. He has also been an outspoken supporter of capping state spending to provideNew Yorkers wi th tax relief and to provide economic stability to our state.

A fierce advocate for education, Senator Flanagan served as the Chairman of the SenateStanding Committee on Education prior to his election as Majority Leader. Senator Flanagan has supported the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act (Project SAVE)and worked to permanently extend the Child Safety Zone law which gives otherwiseineligible children access to bus service to increase safety in New York schools.

In 2012, Senator Flanagan led the effort to help in the fight against breast cancer bysponsoring legislation that will provide women with critically important informationthey need to protect their lives. The new law, which went into effect in January of 2013,requires mammography providers to notify patients if they have dense breast tissue andto recommend that they speak with their doctor about pursuing other screening optionsthat may be beneficial.

Senator Flanagan was raised in Huntington where he attended Harborfields High School.In 1983, he earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary in Virginiaand in 1990 he received a law degree from Touro Law School.

Senator Flanagan is proudly following the path of his father, the late John Flanagan, whoserved in the New York State Assembly from 1972 to 1986.

Previously, he served as Counsel to the Majority of theNew York State Assembly, acting as legal advisor to five Speakers of the Assembly as wellas other members of the Assembly's leadership. He was a key negotiator on numerous issues, including budget/appropriations, public finance, energy, telecommunications,health care reform, banking and public authorities. As chief ethics counsel for the Assembly, Mark advised Members of the Assembly and Assembly staff and was a principaldraftsman of the 1987 Ethics in Government Act. He also was responsible for the Assembly's compliance with the Freedom of Information Law and has been involvedin myriadelection and campaign matters. Mark is a frequent lecturer on lobbying laws,ethics and related compliance matters.

In 2013, Mark was appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to be a Commissioner of theNew York State Commission on Uniform Laws. Mark serves as a member of the AdvisoryCouncil of the Government Law Center of the Albany Law School. Mark is a member ofthe New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Richard “Goose” GossageMajor League Baseball Hall of Fame, Class of 2008

He played 21 seasons for nine different teams, spending his best years with the New YorkYankees and San Diego Padres, before retiring in 1994. In the late 1970's and early 1980's,Goose Gossage was one of the earliest manifestations of the dominating closer, with wildfacial hair and a gruff demeanor to go along with his blistering fastball.

During his career, Gossage pitched in 1,002 games and finished 681 of them and earned310 saves. He made nine All-Star appearances and pitched in three World Series. He ledthe American League in saves in 1975 (26), 1978 (27) and 1980 (33). He holds the NewYork Yankees career record for ERA (2.14) and hits per nine innings (6.59). One differencebetween Gossage and more recent closers is that Gossage often pitched as many as threeinnings to finish a game, while modern closers typically pitch the ninth inning only.

Gossage lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife Corna, and is active in the community promoting and sponsoring youth sports. His three sons Jeff, Keith and Toddalso live in Colorado and enjoy hunting, fishing and golf with their dad. Corna is an avidhiker. In 1995, the City of Colorado Springs dedicated the Rich "Goose" Gossage YouthSports Complex, which features five fields for youth baseball and softball competition.

He has written an autobiography, released in 2000, entitled The Goose is Loose (Ballantine: New York).

Assemblyman Carl E. HeastieSpeaker, New York State Assembly

Carl E. Heastie is the first African American to serve as Speaker of the New York State Assembly, elected by his Assembly colleagues on February 3, 2015.

In his first budget as Speaker, he worked closely with members of the Assembly Majorityto develop a financial plan that made an historic $1.8 billion investment in the educationof our students, addressed the homelessness crisis facing our communities and gaveworking families the resources they need to achieve financial independence. SpeakerHeastie is committed to fighting for the reforms and investments that will strengthenour families and uplift all New Yorkers.

Speaker Heastie represents the 83rd A.D. in the northeast Bronx and was first elected tothe Assembly in 2000. As a member of the Assembly, he has been one of the leading advocates for the construction of new schools and his vigilance has led to the developmentof several new schools in his district. In addition, he has secured significant funding forhousing, education, after school programming, health and human services, jobs readinessand computer training for constituents.

Amongst his many legislative achievements, Speaker Heastie was a principal negotiatorin securing an increase in the minimum wage that took effect January 1, 2014. He wasalso successful in negotiating increases in unemployment insurance benefits, which hadbeenstagnant since 1998. He was the prime sponsor of the Wage Theft Prevention Actwhich provided stiffer penalties for employers that steal wages from employees.

Speaker Heastie scored a victory for public health when he championed the passage ofa law that prohibited the sale of water containing nicotine to children under 18 yearsold. He alsoauthored a law to help victims of domestic violence by releasing them fromlease obligations if it is found that remaining in the residence would keep the victim ina dangerous environment.

Prior to joining the Assembly, Speaker Heastie served as a budget analyst in the NewYork City Comptroller’s office where he researched, prepared and authored reports onthe City’s spending patterns. He earned a master’s degree in business administration witha concentration in Finance from Bernard M. Baruch College (CUNY) and a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University (SUNY).

Andrew Kennedy is the President and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth. He previously served as the Deputy Director of State Operations for Governor Andrew M. Mark McLeod is a currently a Deputy Chief Examiner with the Life Bureau of the New YorkState Department of Financial Services. All 23 of his years with the Department havebeen with the Life Bureau. He has conducted financial and market conduct examinationsas examiner-in-charge of complex life insurers and continues to interact directly withinsurer as part of the enforcement process. Senator James L. SewardChair, Standing Committee on

A native of Otsego County, Senator Seward attended Oneonta public schools and graduated from Hartwick College with a B.A. degree in political science. He also studiedat the Nelson Rockefeller Institute of SUNY Albany. In 1999, Hartwick College honoredSenator Seward with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Senator Seward was elected to the state senate in 1986 and was appointed chairman ofthe Senate Energy and Telecommunications Committee, where he developed a reputationas a skilled negotiator and effective spokesman for the senate majority on statewideenergy issues.

In 1999, Seward assumed chairmanship of the Senate Standing Committee on Insurance, where he immediately set out to develop state policy that helps consumersand ensures New York's leadership in this vital segment of the state's financial servicesindustry, employer of thousands of New Yorkers. Seward has fought to broaden healthinsurance coverage and reform, and the writing of auto and property/casualty policiesin a free, but fair, market that is sensitive to consumers' needs. He has pushed wideravailability of health insurance for the uninsured and to reduce pressure on health insurance costs for workers and small business owners. He won passage of legislation in2002 that extends group health insurance offered by chambers of commerce to soleproprietors of businesses, and in 2008 secured legislativeapproval of a bill to provideshort term health insurance policies to young adults and college students. He sponsoredthe “Health Insurance Premium Integrity Act” to boost the percentage of premium dollarsspent directly on health care, and was responsible for broadening health insurance coverage for voluntary firefighters and EMTs by letting them purchase policies throughthei rmunicipalities.

Seward won statewide recognition for his "Freedom Plan" to match simpler, lower costhealth insurance policies with federally authorized health savings accounts. The legislationis considered an innovative approach to addressing the rising cost of health insurancefor employers and their employees. Seward has led the fight in New York against autoinsurance fraud, a significant factor in rising auto insurance premiums. He is serving asimmediate past president and nationally recognized leader in the National Conferenceof Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).

Senator Seward has been a consistent advocate for education, securing state aid for localdistricts to offset rising taxes and to support technology and special education initiativeswithin his schools. He strongly supported enactment of the STAR school tax relief programand has championed property tax relief.

Seward is an advocate for more jobs and business growth. In his district, Seward is a partner in local economic development. He works to save and create jobs in his districtthrough state grants and loans to businesses and partnerships with local economic development agencies and local governments.

Senator Seward is a former Milford town justice and former chairman of the OtsegoCounty Republican Committee. He was a delegate to the 1976, 1980, and 1988 RepublicanNational Conventions and an alternate delegate in 1996. Senator Seward and his wifeCynthia (née Milavec) reside in Milford. Robert SimpsonPresident, CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity

Robert Simpson serves as president of the CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO), based in Syracuse, New York. CenterState CEO is an independent and forward-thinking economic development strategist, business leadershiporganization and chamber of commerce; dedicated to the success of its members and theprosperity of the region.

Through his work at CenterState CEO he is involved in a number of initiatives to build vibrant and sustainable communities, strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem,create greater economic opportunity for traditionally underrepresented populations, andadvocate for the business community at all levels of government. In 2011, Mr. Simpsonwas appointed by the Governor to serve as co-chair of the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council (CNY REDC), a commission responsible for coordinatingeconomic development for Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties.Mr. Simpson actively engaged the Brookings Institution to develop the region’s most sophisticated planning efforts to date.

Bobby ValentineExecutive Director of Athletics, Sacred Heart University

Bobby Valentine is a Connecticut native, growing up in Stamford where he was the onlythree-time All-State football player in Connecticut history, and one of the best athletesthe state has ever produced. Instead of playing college football at USC, he was draftedfifth in the first round of the 1968 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He went on tospend 10 season in the major leagues with the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Mets and Mariners.

After his playing career, Valentine turned to coaching where he was the major leaguemanager for the Texas Rangers starting in 1985 as he became the winningest managerin Rangers history. Valentine took over managing the New York Mets in 1996 and ledthem to back-to-back postseasons, including a 2000 World Series appearance. He alsomanaged twice in Japan. He last managed the Boston Red Sox in 2012.

Valentine also has experience in the broadcast booth as he’s done work on ESPN, SNY,MLB Network and NBC. As a businessman he’s had a successful restaurant in Stamfordcalled Bobby Valentine’s Sports Gallery Café, which soon will be franchised to other cities.

In addition to his easy smile and charismatic personality, Valentine is also known for his philanthropy. It would be impossible to enumerate the many examples of his generosity, butone that stands out is his response to 9/11, when he worked relentlessly commanding an emergency staging area at Shea Stadium, and was awarded a key to the city by the mayor.

Valentine is married to Mary Branca, the daughter of former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher RalphBranca, and they have a son, Bobby Jr. He currently is the executive director of athletics at SacredHeart University, a position he’s held since 2013.

Maria T. VulloSuperintendent, New York State Department of

Financial Services

Maria T. Vullo was confirmed by the New York State Senate as Superintendent Financial Services on June 15, 2016. She was nominated for the position by Governor Andrew Cuomo. As Superintendent, she is responsible for protecting consumersand markets in New York State from fraud and financial crises, as well as reforming theregulation of financial services to keep pace with the industry’s rapid evolution.

Prior to joining DFS, Ms. Vullo was a litigation partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton &Garrison LLP, where she led civil, criminal, and regulatory investigations before courtsand governmental authorities across the country. Ms. Vullo also served as ExecutiveDeputy Attorney General for Economic Justice Division in the Office of the New York StateAttorney General, under then New York State Attorney General Cuomo. There she oversawthe Bureaus of Investor Protection, Antitrust, Real Estate Finance, Consumer Frauds andInternet, leading investigations across New York State to protect investors and consumersfrom fraud.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Vullo’s specific legal experience has included litigationsand investigations involving the financial services sectors and fraud, real estate, healthcare, insurance, tax, consumer protection, bankruptcy, antitrust, and constitutional law.

An accomplished trial lawyer, Ms. Vullo has also argued before the U.S. Supreme Court,the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits, and the New YorkState Appellate Division.

Ms. Vullo is a recognized leader in protecting women’s rights, including representingwomen raped by soldiers during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War – a case in which she secured a $745 million jury verdict for the plaintiffs. Her pro bono work also includes securing a $100 million jury verdict representing abortion providers whose lives had beenthreatened by an online “hit list” and numerous amicus curiae briefs to the U.S. SupremeCourt in significant civil rights cases.

Ms. Vullo was twice nominated by the New York State Commission on Judicial Nomination as a candidate for Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals. She has beennamed a “New York Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers Magazine and has been included in numerous leading lawyer lists published by the National Law Journal and otherleading publications.

Ms. Vullo recently received the New York Women Making a Difference Award fromEleanor’s Legacy, the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Interfaith Nutrition Network, and the Distinguished Corporate Citizen Award from A Better Balance, amongmany other awards and professional recognitions.

Ms. Vullo earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, an M.P.A. from the New York University Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a B.A. from the Collegeof Mount Saint Vincent. David J. WalshPresident and Chief Executive OfficerAmalgamated Life Insurance Company

David J. Walsh is President and Chief Executive Officer of Amalgamated Life InsuranceCompany. Additionally, he is CEO of Alico Services Corporation and also oversees operations for the entire Amalgamated Family of Companies. Under his leadership, amajor reorganization was implemented which included development of an enhancedleadership team and strategic plan, and the relocation of the company’s offices fromManhattan to White Plains, New York. His leadership team is credited with improvi ngthe organization’s infrastructure and expanding its offerings and national footprint.

Prior to joining the organization, Mr. Walsh served in senior executive positions at AIG,and Swiss Re. He also served as Director of Insurance and Director of International Tradefor the State of Alaska. His professional career also includes having served as a memberof the United States delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), as a prosecutor during the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipelineand, for ten years, on the Anchorage, Alaska Assembly (City Council).

Currently, Mr. Walsh serves on the boards of numerous professional and charitable organizations, including: Chairman-Elect of the Life Insurance Council of New York, Insurance Federation of New York, Sidney Hillman Foundation, and the college of MountSaint Vincent. Additionally, he is President of the Westchester Putnam Boy Scout Council.His previous affiliations include that as President of the National Association of InsuranceCommissioners, Co-Founder and First Chairman of the International Association ofInsurance Commissioners, member of the Board of Regents of Loras College in Dubuque,Iowa, and Adjunct Professor of Law at Pace University Law School from 1998 to 2004. Heis a frequent public speaker.

Mr. Walsh earned a Master’s degree in Professional Studies, Industrial and Labor Relationsfrom Cornell University, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin, a Master’sdegree in Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University, and a Bachelor’s degreein Psychology from Loras College. He is currently working toward a Ph.D from the University College Dublin.
