NATIONAL WORKSHOP: The Department conducted:

➢ IET & IEEE Sponsored one day Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights Procedures”,

on17.06.2017. It was inaugurated by Dr.Gangatharan N., HoD/ECE., RMKCET.

➢ IET Sponsored one day Workshop on “Solar and Smart Energy Systems in Present

and Future”, on 14.07.2017. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr.Srinivas Reddy

K., Professor, IIT Madras, Chennai.

➢ IET Sponsored National Level Workshop on IOT - Security and Challenges In Sensor

Networks on 22.07.2017. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri. Srinivasan S.,

CEO, Glosys Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Choolaimedu, Chennai.

➢ IEEE Sponsored one day Workshop on Python by Respro Labs on 19.11.2017

&26.11.2017 &03.12.2017.

ECE ASSOCIATION: ➢ The ECE Department Students’ Association was organized on 14.07.2017. It was

inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr.Srinivas Reddy K Professor,

IIT Madras, Chennai. Also inaugurated The Institution of Engineers (India)

Student Chapter (IEI).

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM :

➢ The Department Conducted the National Level Technical Symposium “TWYSTRA

2K17” on 31.07.2017. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest – Shri.James Michael Amulu,

Director, SAP Labs, Chennai.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM:

➢ Anna University approved 7 days FDTP on “Transmission Lines and Waveguides - EC

6503” from 29.05.2017 to 04.06.2017.

OTHER EVENTS:

The Department conducted:

➢ Two Days National Level Hands on Training in “ROBOTICS” by 3iTechso

Technologies Pvt.,Ltd., on 15.09.2017 and 16.09.2017.

➢ The “Orientation Programme”, for II and III year by Mrs. Mary Theresa Rani,

Territory Delivery Head, NIIT Limited and Professors, Year Co-ordinators, Alumni,

Final year ECE students, at RMKCET, on 18.12.2017.

➢ IEEE Student Branch (STB 20131) & IET Student Chapter inuagurated National Academic

Development Research Forum (NADRF) – 2017,on 21.12.2017.And the paper

presentation by students were conducted.

➢ The “Paper Presentation Contest” on 30.12.2017. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest

Shri.Suresh Barola .S, Head-Operations, Barola Technologies, Chennai.

TECHNICAL PRESENTATION BY ALUMNIES:

➢ Manoj Kumar V R., Alumni., presented session on"Higher Studies in Abroad",

conducted by National Academic Development Research Forum (NADRF), at

RMKCET, on 06.01.2018.

➢ Vaishali B., Alumni., presented session on "Placement Techniques", conducted by

National Academic Development Research Forum (NADRF),at RMKCET,on

06.01.2018.

INTERNSHIP INTERVIEW

➢ Glosys Technology solutions Pvt.Ltd. conducted Internship Interview for Selected II

year and III year Students of ECE on 16.02.2018.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE:

➢ The Department Conducted IET, YPS Chennai Network and IEEE Madras Section

sponsored Seventh National Conference on “Recent Advancements in Signal

Processing and Communication (NCRASPC - 2018)”, on 26.02.2018. It was

inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr.Thirumalaidasan K., Unit Head-Operations M/s.PEE

Industrial Valves Pvt.Ltd.,Gummidipoondi.

TECHNICAL EVENT: ➢ Department of ECE Organized Snake and Ladder - Gaming Event (An Aptitude

Contest) for Second year and Third year ECE students on 27.02.2018 &28.02.2018.

MINI PROJECT CONTEST: ➢ Department of ECE conducted the Mini Project Contest on 03.03.2018. There were 20

batches of students displaying the various innovative projects.

SEMINAR: ➢ Department of ECE Organized a Seminar on “CELEBRATE ENGINEERING” on

12.03.2018.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATION IN SMART INDIA HACKATHON ➢ Team titled “THE TECHIE TRIBES” from final year ECE of RMK College of

Engineering and Technology participated in the Hackathon – 2018 grand finale held

in Jaipur Engineering College and Research Center, Jaipur on 30.03.2018 and

31.03.2018. This Hackathon competition was conducted by Ministry of Information and

Broadcasting. In this competition students developed a mobile application “STRIKING

AIR UI” for All India Radio and won as 1st runner up with cash cash prize

75,000/- from Mr.Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of Information and

Broadcasting.

➢ Team titled “Infinitys” from second and third year ECE of RMK College of Engineering

and Technology participated in the Hackathon – 2018 grand finale held in Techno India,

Kolkata on 30.03.2018 and 31.03.2018. This Hackathon competition was conducted

by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. In this competition students developed a

mobile application “INDOOR NAVIGATION USING BLE BEACONS” for hospitals.
