FINANCIAL AID FACTORS• Financial aid is provided for tuition only and cannot be used towards the deposit,

student fees, textbooks, or laptop lease fee.

• Aid awards are renewable if financial need still exists – families must re-apply each year.

• Financial Aid applications will not affect admission decisions; admission and financial aid are considered separately by the Admissions Office and Business Office, respectively.

• Financial aid is awarded only to students who have completed the application process and have been officially accepted for admission.

• All financial information is kept in the strictest confidence.

• In the instance that parents are divorced, separated or not married, Chaminade considers the income and assets of any adult who plays a significant role in a student’s life. All parties are expected to complete a FACTS application and submit required tax documents.

• Once the FACTS Application is complete and all requested financial documents are uploaded, the committee will review your submission. FACTS can take up 2 weeks to review, depending on the time of the year.

APPLICATION DEADLINES• All families may begin applying for financial aid for the 2018-2019 school

year on November 6, 2017.

• New high school students – December 15, 2017

• New middle school students – February 16, 2018

We understand that enrolling your son in a private school is a family commitment – for both the student and the parents and we are here to help support you as you navigate this important part of the Admissions process.

NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID

It is a critical part of our MISSION to enroll the most qualified young men regardless of their

financial circumstances. Two types of financial aid awards are available; Direct Grants and

Work Grants. Direct Grants are awarded based on financial need and are a direct reduction

of tuition. Work Grants are awarded based on financial need and reduce tuition by the number

of hours a student works for the school.

THE FINANCIAL AID PROCESS

It is our goal to make the process for applying for financial aid as simple and straightforward

as possible. However, ultimately it is the family’s responsibility to complete the application and

provide all financial documents required by FACTS and by Chaminade.

After scheduling your son’s Shadow Visit and communicating your intent to apply

for financial aid to the Admissions Department, simply follow the steps below to begin the

Financial Assistance Application process.

HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR FACTS APPLICATION:

STEP 2 All families seeking assistance are required to complete the online FACTS application and pay the application fee.

STEP 3 Upload a complete, signed PDF copy of all required 2016 Federal Income Tax Forms, including a copy of all 2017 W-2 forms and all accompanying schedules (A-F only) to FACTS.

STEP 4 If a parent/guardian owns a business, a copy of 2016 Business Tax Returns and all accompanying schedules for each business owned must be submitted to FACTS for review.

STEP 5 Provide a written narrative of any unusual circumstances

that have affected your family’s financial situation that you would like the Financial Assistance Committee to consider.

STEP 6 Complete the custom questions found at the end of the application that are required specifically by Chaminade.
