2016 Viognier, California PLATINUM SERIES #18088 This aromatic, full-bodied white wine is delightfully complex with notes of apple blossoms, toasted almonds, honeyed sugar and Asian pear. The mid palate is rich-textured, with pineapple and peach flavors that entice with each sip and linger in the finish. California’s 2016 vintage began with a warmer and milder season. Over the summer, wine country saw beautiful warm days with many cool foggy evenings. June and July were generally milder without experiencing extended heat spikes or long duration heat events. One of the defining climatic elements to the 2016 harvest across Sonoma County however was the cooler than normal August. This cooler weather cycle slowed the harvest process and resulted in increased hang times for fruit. This contributed to amazing ripeness and greater layers of flavors without excess or exaggerated sugar levels. Vintage: 2016 Varietal: 90% Viognier and 10% Muscat Alexandria Appellation: California Alcohol: 13.4% pH: 3.45 Residual Sugar: 7.2 g/L www.windsorvineyards.com Windsor Recommends Enjoy chilled alongside spicy fare like Thai curry or Vietnamese inspired dishes. Also makes a wonderful companion for social occasions served as an aperitif. Pairs easily with cheeses like Stilton, Chèvre or fresh Burratta with a board of accoutrements like pistachios, honey, salami & dried apricot.
