– In January of this year Council initiated a survey of managed ForestOwners and Water licensees [ LWI and Individual Water Licensees(IWL)] using water for domestic consumption

– The purpose of the survey is to provide Council with an overviewof the risk assessments and field practices employed by MF ownersin protecting drinking water resources within or downstream oftheir managed forest. This study is intended to form part of the basisfor Council to assess the effectiveness of its current regulatoryframework for the protection of water quality on private managedforest lands.

– Council has been actively engaged with BC Assessment over the lastyear on a host of administrative matters.

– We believe there are opportunities to streamline activities betweenthe two agencies and so we are working to incorporate theseefficiencies into our day to day interactions.

– One issue we hope to resolve this year is the matter of“grandfathered undersized parcels”.

– We hope to have resolution of this matter for the 2017 Assessmentyear.
