FUSE Vascular Access Simulator CourseVenous or arterial cannulation to increase success and reduce the risk of complications by guidance with ultrasound.The course covers ultrasound-guided cannulation of central and peripheral veins (internal jugular, subclavian, femoral, PICC) and arteries (femoral, brachial and radial).

FCU Transthoracic Echocardiography Simulator Course (FCU TTE)Learn practical skills in transthoracic echocardiography. Reinforced learning on both normal and pathological cases.

FCU Transoesophageal Echocardiography Simulator Course (FCU TOE)Learn practical skills in transoesophegeal echocardiography.This course is also suitable for those seeking training in cardiac anaesthesia and intensive care.

FCU Peri-Arrest Simulator CourseSystematic diagnosis of conditions that cause peri-arrest and cardiac arrest, including ultrasound of the heart, lung and abdomen.Good knowledge-base reinforced with learning practical skills performing and interpreting ultrasound of the heart, lung and abdomen with realistic ultrasound simulators.

Prior basic training in focused cardiac ultrasound (transthoracic echocardiography) is a pre-requisite,eg. FCU TTE or iHeartScan™.

Pre-Reading MaterialsAll workshop pre-reading is delivered online and includes interactive tutorials and 20 online cases to practise interpretation. Workshop materials can be downloaded to iPad, Android or Windows tablets or can be accessed online using a browser.Allow 20-40 hours of study time prior to attending the workshop.

Graduate Courses in Clinical UltrasoundThese three Award courses are offered to medical professionals who wish to obtain further expertise in medical ultrasound for clinical practice.

All Graduate courses are delivered online and require no contact hours. Course materials can be downloaded to iPad, Android or Windows tablets or can be accessed online using a browser.

The three-stage course starts with:

1. Graduate Certificate inClinical Ultrasound (GCertClinUS)

Provides a solid foundation for basic transthoracic echocardiography and surface-ultrasound uses such as vessel access, nerve blocks and trauma ultrasound.

2. Graduate Diploma inClinical Ultrasound (PGDipClinUS)

Provides diagnostic level of knowledge with the addition of transoesophageal echocardiography.

3. Master of Clinical Ultrasound (MClinUS)Provides an advanced knowledge-base in echocardiography and focuses on congenital, obstetrics, medical conditions, 3D echocardiography and new technologies, advanced case studies practicum, research methods and ultrasound literature.

Course DurationEach course is offered part-time (2 subjects) over two semesters or full-time (4 subjects) over one semester.

Basic TTE TrainingThe Basic TTE online course has been designed to provide a thorough knowledge base in Basic Transthoracic Echocardiography.Offers: 7 tutorials and 50 basic TEE case studies.Access to 30 log books to record clinical cases (optional).At the end of the course you will receive a Statement of Activities including all completed tutorials and case studies.
