Siltlox Installation Instructions – Using Star Pickets and Silt fence

EnvironmentalCompliance is easy with Siltlox tubes

5 6Continue to hold the fence as the tube slides down until the top of the tube meets the top of the picket.

Insert the cable tie through the top hole of the picket and into the locking mechanism and pull tight. Siltlox is now securely installed.

Move to the next picket, tension barrier between pickets before repeating steps 2 through to 5. To seal the base of fence, trench or bury the tail.

Install star pickets at 2 metreintervals with the two arms of the ‘Y’ profile facing the uphill orwater flow side. Run the silt fence barrier along the two arms side.

Allow enough slack to pinch the fence with thumb and fore finger to wrap around the two arms of the ‘Y’.

Position the Siltlox tube slot so it slides down over the two arms of the ‘Y’. As it slides down it entraps the fence around the two arms.

To remove fenceUsing one thumb press the release lever on the cable tie against the picket, pull strap out from other side, slide Siltlox up to release fence.

SureGro supplies a wide range of UV stabilised Plastic tree guard sleeves. With varying heights, widths and thicknesses to choose from there is surely a guard for you! Standard tree guard sleeves are 100um thick, whilst our high performance guards are 120um thick. Use Sure Gro’s Guards in conjunction with either three bamboo or hardwood stakes, depending on the soils in question. Sure Gro’s Jute, Recycled Paper and Recycled fibre weed mats are designed to be used in conjunction with our tree guards. They will not only prevent competition by weeds, but will increase water retention by soil. Ask us about what guard, stake and weed mat will be best for you!

The much loved Milk carton has always been and always will be a favourite of Land Managers all around the country. It is easy to use, with the 2 litre and 3 litre types coming pre-tabbed for your stakes. The standard 1 and 2 litre options breakdown in the field over 1-2 years (depending on moisture availability). This is a great feature, but sometimes does not allow long enough for the plant to properly establish. Now SureGro can supply a cardboard composite (mix) range, that will keep its structure for 2 years+. This is ideal for moist areas or for areas where plants can take longer to establish.
