2016 Sunflower Trial: North Dakota State University The purpose of this trial design was to evaluate NZONE MAX treated urea and foliar applied NutriPak in a sunflower fertility program. NZONE MAX was applied to the urea at a rate of 2 quarts per ton and an application of 100 lb. of nitrogen was applied to the field. NutriPak was applied foliar at a rate of 32 oz. per acre at the early vegetative stage (plant height approximately 8”). The combination treatment of NZONE MAX treated urea and foliar applied NutriPak was then compared to a treatment of untreated urea with the same rate of nitrogen applied.
