2016 POST SHOW REPORT

The 2016 NORTH AMERICAN TIRE & RETREAD EXPO was held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans

this past April 19‐21st in conjunction with Crain Communications Inc.

The Expo featured nearly 100 tire, tire retread, tire recycling, tire equipment and repair companies and over 1,000

vetted tire industry visitors in attendance.

Exhibitors featured top tire companies in the industry such as Continental Tire the Americas, Goodyear Tire & Rubber

Co., Alliance Tire Americas, Inc., Pre‐Q Galgo Corp., Marangoni Tread North American, Triangle Tire USA, Vipal Rubber

Corporation, HB Plus Bandamatic Inc., Shamrock Marketing, Inc., Rema Tip Top North America Inc., Husky Tire

Corporation, Ironhead Retread Technologies, Elgi Rubber Company LLC., B&J Rocket America, and many more.

Training Sessions were held throughout the show and were presented by some of the industry’s leaders such as

Shamrock Marketing, Inc., Central Marketing, Inc., Matteuzzi S.R.L., and Granutech-Saturn Systems. The expo also

hosted an Inaugural Party for all exhibitors and visitors on the first night.

Educational Conferences driven by Tire Business Educates were held each day and featured speakers such as

Bridgestone Commercial Group's president Kurt Danielson, Editor and VP of Tire Business, David Zielasko, amongst

others. A $500 American Express gift card was awarded daily by STARMAXX – the conferences’ official sponsor.

PRE-CURED CATEGORY

Techno Pneu, Inc. from Canada

The winning (pre-cured) retread tire was a Dunlop 11R 22.5 casing with Vipal, VT200 tread.

Owners Mr. Eric Marquis and Mr. Francois Marquis were present to receive the $2,500 cash prize and trophy.

MOLD-CURED CATEGORY

Recauchutagem Nortenha, S.A. from Portugal

The winning (mold-cured) retread tire was a Bridgestone 385/65R 22.5 casing with Nortenha Ecotrailer tread.

CEO Mr. Jose Gomes was present to receive the $2,500 cash prize and trophy.

The judges of the contest consisted of David Stevens, managing Director of the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau, Eduardo Nava, Vice President of Pre-Q Galgo Corporation, and Jeff Young, Vice President (OTR & Retread

Products) of Rema Tip Top.

Community Tire Retreading from USA

The winning OTR retread tire was a Michelin 20.5R casing with UNICURE CL3 tread.

President Mr. Michael Berra was present to receive the $5,000 cash prize and trophy.
