The event “Belles in Pink” sponsored by Handbags of Hope Exchange will be held on

October 2016 in the Northern New Jersey area and will feature a day of learning, sharing,

and giving back. There will be guest speakers from local organizations and beauty/

wellness professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop from participating

vendors, win prizes, and much more!

We invite you to sponsor the 2016 event through any one of

about handbags of hopeHandbags of Hope Exchange is an organization founded by Erika

Hernandez geared to inspire, educate, and give back by collecting

gently used handbags filled with everyday goods for women in need.

Our mission is to empower women who are struggling to rebuild

their lives. The initial activities have included the collection of in-kind

contributions for those in need, as seen in the first ever Handbags of

Hope event with the donation of over 175 toiletry-filled bags.

Specifically, we partner with local women’s organizations to redistribute our collected bags

to the community. With this assistance, we help in establishing more confidence in women

so they can grow and develop a brighter future for themselves. 100% of our event’s net

profits will be donated to the collaborating organization(s).

who will benefitThe Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation®

The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation® is a New Jersey

non-profit corporation dedicated to raising public awareness,

supporting research in the area of triple negative breast cancer,

and providing meaningful programs and services to those battling

this disease. Your donations support the mission and goals of the

Foundation.

The most common breast cancer treatments usually target

three receptors found in tumors: estrogen, progesterone, and HER2-neu. “Triple negative”

means that the breast cancer is estrogen receptor-negative, progesterone receptor-

negative, and HER2-negative. Although triple negative tumors may be highly responsive

to chemotherapy, they may also be more difficult to treat because there is no targeted

treatment.

One woman who lost her two-year battle with TNBC was Nancy Block-Zenna, a young

mother diagnosed at age 35. In her honor, some of Nancy’s friends founded the Triple

Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to be a credible source

for triple negative breast cancer information, a catalyst for science and patient advocacy

groups, and a caring community with meaningful services for patients and their families.

Harvest of Hope Ministries, Inc.

Harvest of Hope Ministries, Inc. will be receiving the bag

donations. This time we will be collecting slightly used backpacks

and/or drawstring bags filled with snacks, toiletries, gloves,

scarves and hats. This collection is to help HOHM prepare

for their winter Homeless Outreach which takes place both in

November and December. Attendees will have the option to

either bring their donated bag to the event or purchase a “Donate a Bag” (DAB) option at

the event. Those who purchase the DAB option will have a new handbag reserved at the

event. The cost of the DAB will go towards purchasing drawstring bags which will then be

filled by HOHM (see image below).
