ST. MALACHY’S NURSERY SCHOOL
St. Malachy’s Nursery School will
open on Sunday, June 5th!
The Nursery School will be for all
children under the age of five.
It will be held in the Church Hall
during the 9:00 AM Mass every
Sunday.
The mission of the Nursery
School is twofold:
1) To enable parents of young
children to get more out of
the Mass and to enjoy it more.
2) To give the little ones a fun,
Christian, leaning experience.
The Nursery School will be staffed
mainly by young mothers, as well
as others.
For more information, call Leah

to live St. Francis way of following
Christ?
Parishioners George and Patty

come to an introductory meeting at
10:30 AM Sunday, May 22nd, in the
Rectory (Please use side door.) to see
if it might be for you.

make metal or stringed rosaries?
Would you like to learn, one on one,
how to recite and meditate on the
rosary?
There are some parishioners of St.
Malachy’s who would like to use
their talents in this ministry.
There is a need for rosaries all over
the world and even in our own
parish.
If you are interested in any of these
options then give Catherine
Albertina, 674-9497, a call so she
can set you up with one of our
volunteers.

the big table in the back of Church. If
it is a rosary to be repaired, please

BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST,
It is time once again for us
to support the work of our Church
through the annual Bishop’s Hope
Appeal. This appeal is of vital
importance to the mission of Christ
through: our university and hospital
chaplains, outreach to the rural and
urban poor, parish faith formation,
Catholic schools, family life programs
and many other good works.
This year, St. Malachy’s
assessment has gone up, from
$16,008.89 to $16,832.27. But 50% of
the amount by which a parish exceeds its
assessment is given back to the parish
the following Spring.
Every Catholic family in the
Diocese should have received a letter
from the Bishop, along with a pledge
form. We would like to ask everyone to
turn in their pledge form by next Sunday,
May 22nd, by either dropping it into the
collection basket or mailing it to St.
Malachy’s. We would like to have all
pledges go through the Parish rather
than being sent directly to the Diocese.
Again this year, we are asking
every family to pledge $120.00
($10.00/month), more if possible. Any
checks written should be made out:
Hope Appeal.
Please be as generous as possible.
Only if some families pledge more than
$120.00 will we make our assessment.
Last year the average pledge of families
throughout the Diocese was $178.37.
The average pledge of St. Malachy’s
families was $204.04! Therefore, some
families gave way more than that.
All we ask, however, is that each
family do the best it can. What we hope
for most of all is that every family in the
Parish make a pledge, no matter how
small, because, as a parish family, we
want to be all in this together.
Thanks for reading this. May our
Risen Lord Bless you always.
Fr. Smith
