2016 Campuget 1753 Grenache 100% Grenache

Since 1942, our sole aim has been to produce Rhône Valley Grands Vins, respecting the heritage of our soil and our identity. The round Rhône stones, the Southern sun, the Mistral winds and the Syrah and Grenache grapes are the basic elements which form the identity of Campuget.

Costières de Nimes, the easternmost appellation of the Languedoc, is effectively part of the Rhône since the climate, soil and topography are so similar to those just over the river in the southern Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards. The relatively uniform soils are marked by large pebbles on gentle, typically south-facing slopes. Château de Campuget was established in 1942 and is a top quality estate near Nîmes with a long history. In its cellar, tradition and progress unite to provide aroma, finesse and bouquet and deploys a wide range of traditional Rhone cépages to produce full, easy and spicy wines.

Vintage: 2016 Country: France Region: Rhône Alcohol 13.5% ALC.

Vinification: This wine is produced in a traditional way. The extraction is soft to preserve all the complexity of this grape variety.

Tasting: This wine is very complex. The robe is deep ruby. The nose is on the red fruit (cherry) mixed with spicy notes. On the palate the tannins are tender and supple, marked by finesse and elegance.

Accompaniment: This wine will accompany meat such as wild boar or lamb very well.
