Dear Friends and Supporters:

2016 was a momentous year for the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation.

In July, the Foundation’s $1.6 million dollar, 10 year pledge to support the

programs of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Inpatient unit was completed.

A decade after opening, the unit has served thousands of New Mexico’s

children with disabilities. The unit maintains state-of-art technology

including an adaptive technology lab, funded by the Foundation, that

helps patients return home ready to continue their lives.

In this same month, Camp Inspiration was launched in Farmington,

New Mexico. Camp Inspiration provides opportunities for children with

disabilities to try an array of Adaptive Sports including hand-cycling, rock

climbing and wheelchair basketball. This is the first such camp of its kind

provided outside of central New Mexico.

The Foundation’s 2016 through 2018 Strategic Plan is aggressive and

includes a statewide Adaptive Sports Initiative that will require new

funding and new partnerships to serve children across New Mexico.

In these efforts, we will be asking for your continued support as we

more fully realize our mission of supporting children in our state with

disabilities.

for children with special needs through a delivery system that is

simple, efficient, proactive and well-publicized. We celebrate and

share our stories statewide to give hope to others in need.

The Foundation strives to do the right thing – even when no

one is looking. We follow through on commitments and keep

promises. We are good stewards of resources entrusted to

the Foundation and use our donors’ money only in a manner

The Foundation recognizes the need for services statewide and

will engage and serve clients wherever needed. We provide

referrals and access to resources, and we fill the gap between

families’ resources and financial needs. We will foster continued,

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNM C ARRIE TINGLE Y HOSPITALThe Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation funds equipment, programs and research studies that help Carrie Tingley Hospital provide the

highest level of care to patients. In 2006, the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation pledged $1.6 million over a 10 year period to support

the UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital Wing of the Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion at UNM Children’s Hospital. Thanks to the generous

support of community, this pledge was completed in 2016!

PATIENT AND FAMILY A SSISTANCEThe Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation assists patients

and their families with:

• Wheelchair Ramps

• Vehicle Modifications

• Home Modifications

• Durable Medical or Therapeutic Equipment not covered by insurance

• Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance

Families can apply for assistance by contacting a social worker at

Carrie Tingley Hospital or contacting the Foundation’s Family Liaison.

Assistance is awarded based on need.
