Design thinking empowers organizations—but what exactly does it mean to be design-centric?

In our 2016 Product Design Report, InVision asked designers around the world 37 questions about their roles, careers, and feelings about the future. We learned some shocking—and not so shocking— things, about compensation ranges, which disciplines within design are growing, what types of organizations have really grown their design allocation, and more.

More companies are recognizing design as a competitive advantage: now, nearly 40 percent of top companies* name design as having a leading role in their company.

Yet, while it’s clear some organizations are keen to harness design’s power as a competitive advantage, others lag behind.

DDesign is more than building beautiful products. Design is experimentation. Design is user focused. Design reinvigorates old processes with a fresh, new way of thinking.
