“Our teams are experts in all Microsoft Technology”
UK Digital Skills Taskforce published a report “Digital Skills
for Tomorrow’s Worlds” which highlights that Britain faces
a growing shortage of digital skills, whilst stereotypical
perceptions of technology careers prevent many students
from continuing into the digital industries. Estimates from
the Science Council suggest that the ICT workforce will grow
39% by 2030 and a report from O2 stated that around 745,000
additional workers with digital skills would be needed to meet
demands between now and 2017.
risual education was formed to help address the digital shortage
through collaboration with Microsoft and our industry expertise
to create a centre of excellence for IT in each LEP area. These
centres will be formed in partnership with an FE partner to
develop the route from education into employment.
risual education bridges the gap between industry and
education by enhancing the skills of the lecturers, producing
a collaborative delivery model for apprenticeships to form
a direct route for full time learners into apprenticeships
within the local region.

risual are offering the exciting opportunity for one College in
each LEP region to become a risual Microsoft academy. This
college will then become the centre of excellence for digital
technology and innovation for its region and will be host to key
Microsoft events as well as a regional hub to attract employers
to support education as a drive to economic development
through adopting 21st Century technology.
The risual academy will use the UNESCO ICT Competency
Framework for Teachers to build curriculum development,
providing CPD to your teaching team with opportunities to
become Microsoft Certified Educators and Microsoft Innovation
Educator Experts in order to ensure that your students are being
taught the latest digital literacy knowledge.
Our mission is to ensure all students leave education with the
digital skills required to gain employment. We will provide a
state of the art academy for your IT learners, and support the
College to meet the criteria to become a Microsoft Associate
College through our lagged funding vehicle. 12 Colleges will
be given the opportunity per year, and applications can be
made from October on our website (www.risualeducation.com).

subcontractor ensuring that we maintain the College’s
quality systems and procedures as well as adhering to the
standards within the CIF.

for IT and Telecoms Professionals Framework ID FR00113.
Our assessors will visit your apprentices every 4-6 weeks
and ensure that the Quality Processes for the college are
being adhered to.
