Fall Shows: September 4 – November 15, 2015

Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town

means a few rounds of bingo, where this month’s paycheck covers last

month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another

job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling

who’s made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is

this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings?

Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out.

The San Francisco Comedy Competition is one of the most prestigious

comedy contests in North America—launching the careers of Ellen

DeGeneres, Dana Carvey, and Louis C.K., among many others. Hundreds

of comedians line-up each year to compete, but only 30 are chosen. It’s

an outrageously funny evening that has a well-earned reputation as an

important showcase of promising young entertainers who will make it.

A hilarious comedy by Ken Ludwig, author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon

Over Buffalo. Two English Shakespearean actors find themselves so down

on their luck that they’re performing on the Moose Lodge circuit in the

Amish country of Pennsylvania. Upon hearing that an old lady is about to

die and leave her fortune to two long lost English nephews, they resolve

to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. Trouble

is, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces! Comedy and

romantic entanglements abound.
