2015/16 SEASONTheColonial.org
Dear Friends,
Legendary singer-songwriters, the latest comedic talent, world-renowned vocalists, and simply the best Broadway and family entertainment await you at The Colonial Theatre in 2015/2016.
Scanning the season a few trends come to light. We are proud to present a host of gifted female vocalists, starting with the soulful blend of Mavis Staples and Joan Osborne. Three-time 2015 Grammy winner and Americana-roots artist, Rosanne Cash, will headline in the spring. Crossover talent abounds with artists such as The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain who offer a variety of musical genres – from classical to grunge-rock. Often described as an African-style Cirque du Soleil, the dazzling Cirque Zuma Zuma will entice and enthrall.
Thanks to you, our members and patrons, we now enjoy the world’s best performing artists right here at home. And with your support, we bring live performance into the lives of our youth, ensuring that the arts remain a vital part of their education and life experience.
A Colonial membership is an easy way to invest in the cultural health of our region. Simply put, your membership makes all of this possible. And membership offers a host of benefits such as discounted tickets, priority seating, advance ticket purchase and you’ll be among the first to find out about added shows throughout the season.
Particularly now, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you for all the ways you continue to support our community’s performing arts center. Continue to buy tickets and spread the word so first-class performances continue to be available and accessible to everyone.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at The Colonial!

“I didn’t think I was gonna live long enough to have to learn ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ again,” says Guthrie. “The initial success of the song really took me by surprise more than anyone else.” The 50th anniversary of such a landmark tune - nay, a tradition and institution at this point - deserves such a tribute. The song will be the tour’s cornerstone, joined and fleshed out by a selection of other material from throughout Arlo’s career, presented in a 21st century multimedia retrospective that shows just how far we have come from “Alice’s Restaurant.”Support for the 2015/16 season provided in part by Frazier & Son Furniture and IPG Employee Benefits.
All seven Harry Potter books in seventy hilarious minutes! POTTED POTTER – The Unauthorized Harry Experience (A Parody by Dan and Jeff) takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes. Even if you don’t know the difference between a horcrux and a Hufflepuff, POTTED POTTER will make you roar with laughter, and is perfect for ages from six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed). Support for the 2015/16 season provided in part by People’s Linen Service.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 3 PM $49/$40/$29
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 8 PM $49/$45/$35Meet the ukulele orchestra called “wonderfully clever” by David Bowie, and that the New York Times says “extract(s) more than seems humanly possible from so small and so modest an instrument.” Their shows are a funny and virtuosic obituary of rock and roll, featuring only the “bonsai guitar,” a menagerie of voices and a playlist ranging from Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” to Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries.”
UKULELE ORCHESTRA OF GREAT BRITAIN 30 PLUCKING YEARS
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 8 PM $38/$34/$24The largest and most definitive Bee Gees experience, packed full of all of the generation-defining hits that you love (“Night Fever,” “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love,” “Jive Talkin” and loads more). The show captures the excitement of the Bee Gees live performance and the subtleties of the human voice and sends you dancing down memory lane.
