PERSONAL STATEMENT I am a motivated individual who exercises initiative in accomplishing my life's goals. My IT experience spans 25 years across UK, EMEA and Specialist field pre-sales roles in data management. This includes field technical

enablement, product and program management and partner development. Recognised for being proactive, loyal and committed, my collaborative style ensures success as a supportive team player, as well as a self-starting and passionate individual contributor. I have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills which enable

communication and co-operation with people at all levels. Working in dynamic and fast-paced environments, I have enjoyed the challenge of taking on new responsibilities and contributing to the success of the organisation and equally strive to balance career and family as best I can, since both are priorities. Veritas Technologies LLC (April 2015 - Present) EMEA Technical Enablement Lead for Veritas Technical Sale and Services (TSS), working as part of a company-wide global enablement team to support the Presales and Consulting teams across EMEA.

Work closely technical services leadership teams and training resources to create a structured, forward-looking enablement plan covering both technical and soft-skills areas.

Manage global enablement requirements within the EMEA TSS team to achieve 100% completion rate.

Design, contribute and create relevant content for EMEA and worldwide technical and sales enablement programs. This is included hekping design , implement and run a Presales Professional cours e covering Customer Engagement, Presenting, Whiteboarding and Demonstrating.

VMware (April 2014 – April 2015) EMEA Technical Enablement Manager for VMware Technical Services teams across EMEA, as part of a larger Global Field Readiness team, supporting internal Pre-sales and Consulting teams.

Work with technical services leadership teams and training resources to create a structured, forward-looking enablement plan and manage this through to completion within budget.

Design and create relevant content for EMEA and worldwide technical/ sales enablement programs.

Manage annual and quarterly enablement events, including new-hire and the annual EMEA Tech Summit event in Sofia, Bulgaria ($1.3m budget, 700 attendees).

CommVault Systems Ltd (April 2010 – April 2014)

EMEA Technical Enablement Manager (April 2013 - April 2014) Managing technical enablement programs for for partners and internal SE teams across EMEA. This new team’s specific goal was to improve technical enabl ement tools, create a new certification program, establishing new global training collateral, creating blueprint technical

designs for training systems as well as new corporate presentation templates. EMEA and US travel 40%.

Design, contribute and create relevant program content for a worldwide technical enablement program, and manage adoption.

Work closely with management teams to ensure consistent messaging, provide enablement inputs for new projects and reduce overlap of parallel activities.

Create and deliver Train-the-Trainer education to both internal and partner resources.

Deliver New Hire “boot-camp” training for worldwide pre-sales engineers.

EMEA Product Manager - EMEA SE Team (April 2010 – April 2013) covering the full Simpana data management solution suite. I recognised the need for structured enablement with training and development plans for both Pre-sales and Post-sales Services in the community, along with our partners. I developed and delivered this, bringing

together existing ad-hoc training and creating new programs to fulfil this requirement. Symantec Software (May 2008 – November 2010)

EMEA Senior Regional Product Manager - EMEA SE Team (June 2009 – November 2010). Responsible for enabling and supporting the Symantec Field Pre-sales organisation on NetBackup product suite. I alsohad a focus on archiving (Enterprise Vault), deduplication, encryption and security technologies.

Creating regional virtual teams (product ambassadors) who were technically focused around specific technologies to allow them to better support their local regional sales teams and partners.

Liaise with US-based Product Management on product requirements based on field feedback from technical

services staff, partners and customers.

Co-ordinating annual and bi-annual “Technical Interlocks” between Product Management, Engineering and selected field Pre-sales/Consulting resources. I was responsible to ensure all SE’s participation from EMEA and Asia/Pacific regions.

Enterprise Technical Account Manager – UK SE Team (May 2008 – June 2009). Working one-to-one with a senior sales manager on two global strategic accounts (BP and T-Systems) to drive data management and security solution adoption, build and maintain “Trusted Advisor” status and provide a single point of technical contact. We

achieved this and more, opening up new opportunities in data management and security solutions while hitting 155% annual sales quota for the two accounts in FY 2009.

LeftHand Networks (August 2007 – May 2008) Technical Consultant - EMEA SE Team LeftHand Networks were a small but growing company in the iSCSI appliance market, buoyed primarily by the adoption of VMware server virtualisation. US-based (Boulder, CO) but

looking to build an EMEA presence to rival its main competitor EqualLogic. I joined the company in this EMEA venture and was responsible for pre-sales, post-sales consulting and partner training.

Symantec Software / VERITAS Software (December 1997 – August 2007) EMEA Senior Principal Product Pre-sales Specialist (June 2003 – Aug 2007) as primary technical specialist for the NetBackup product suite and associated specialist for the BackupExec Suite and Enterprise Vault product range, I

worked with EMEA technical field sales organisation (internal and partners) and US-based Product Management.

Define strategic future product direction by focusing field pre-sales, consulting and customer feedback to engineering teams.

Educate the field organisations regarding new software releases and technologies.

Keep the EMEA pre-sales community engaged with Product Management and Engineering and helping manage annual worldwide Interlocks.

UK Pre-sales Team Lead (Feb 2001 – June 2003) lead team of ten pre-sales engineers in the UK team focused on

the Data Protection products from VERITAS and Symantec. The role involved customer and partner pre-sales engagement, team management along with training and presenting at corporate marketing events. UK Enterprise Pre-sales Engineer (Dec 1997 – Feb 2001) Pre-sales customer and partner engagements around

the VERITAS product suite, focusing mainly on Enterprise NetBackup sales and support. Enlighten Software (February 1995 – December 1997)

Pre-sales Engineer – UK and EMEA. Technical customer engagement for the Distributed Systems Manager heterogeneous system administration product suite.

Thames Water (March 1989 - February 1995) System Administrator – Unix and Midrange and Mainframe Computer Operator – IBM MVS/JES2 and ICL VME.

Presented many times to 100-1000+ people at company sales and marketing events. Helped set up Wycombe Rye ParkRun in 2012 and run their Flickr photo site. 10 year restoration project on a 250 year old Grade-II listed Cornish farmhouse and gardens in the 2 acres of land.

Supported family and friends with cancer and contribute to cancer charities. Ran the Reading half marathon in 2 hours in 2010 after only 6 months training and run 10km races around 2-3 times per year. I’d like to tackle a marathon at least once before I’m 55.
