Cravia has hosted another successful Founder’s Awards. The annual event celebrates the outstanding efforts by the team over the past 12 months, and was held in the splendor of the luxurious Atlantis, The Palm on July 13th.
Special awards commemorating loyal, long-time service to Cravia employees were handed out with 34 awards given for 10 years of service and 35 awards handed out for five years of service.
Following this, Mr Louay Ghandour gave a presentation outlining the company’s results and developments over 2014, highlighting plans for the future, which includes the opening of two new restaurants in Dubai, as well as plans to make further inroads into KSA. After this enlightening presentation the announcement of Louay’s promotion to the position of CEO of Cravia was made by Walid Hajj; who now moves on from CEO to the position of Executive Chairman.
The staff was then invited to participate in a Q&A with Walid where he listened to their comments and concerns, and where possible, answered their questions straight away.
The event concluded with a delicious Iftar for the Cravia family to enjoy and fittingly concluding another fantastic year, with all employees excited about the year to come.

Dear Family, What a great year it has been for the company, the brands and our star employees. While the market dynamics have changed, our performance in the UAE and KSA is exceeding our targets and surpassing previous years. On a personal note, I was fortunate to be promoted at the recent “Founders Award” event. To be honest, I did not expect it but am delighted it happened. I can tell you that I was scared and completely surprised! I am still reflecting on that moment but wanted to write a short letter to you – our most deserving team. I have been with Cravia for almost eight years. Over this time, the company has grown and changed. The journey has been amazing, and I could not have done it without YOU. Truly, the people within Cravia, and I mean everyone has passion that is amazing. Your honesty, hard work, commitment and above all LOVE for what you do makes me so proud. Just think about the journey and how you have brought success to Cravia. Your role is so important and is absolutely essential to our formula for success. We complete each other. Please know that you are all stars and in an industry that is relentless and difficult, you have all made the difference. I want to tell you that I did shine during the event and for many years, but you are the rays that helped me shine. Your rays of support have allowed us all to shine. Your rays have allowed Cravia to reach numbers that were unimaginable a few years ago. While I may be the CEO, I assure you that my title should be Chief Empowerment Officer and all of you, are CEO’s. I should say I have big plans for the future, but in truth I do not have any, except to take care of our people and to stay focused on the guest’s experience. Success will be our partner in this journey as we move forward. I promise you that we will continue to take care of you and someday, I hope each of you will have the chance to shine.
Thank you for shining so bright and for being the best team in the world.
