George Crampton 2015 SUMMER SOCCER CAMPS at DeSales University DeSales University features highly skilled, experienced and licensed coaches at all of its camps. These coaches are committed to helping young players build skills as well as increase speed and agility. Their philosophy is to encourage a love and understanding of the game and improve overall ability in a fun, safe environment. George Crampton, camp director, has been the DeSales University head men’s soccer coach for 16 years. He has led the team to four Freedom Conference titles in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 and into the first round of the NCAA playoffs in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. In 2011, the team advanced into the second round for the first time in the program’s history. In 2008, Crampton became the first coach in DeSales University soccer history to record 100+ wins. Named Freedom Conference Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2011, Crampton, a Dublin native, played for the Republic of Ireland Amateur Team. His playing career in the US began at Mercer County Community College where he led the team to the NJCAA National Championship in 1991. In 2010, Crampton was named to the Mercer County Community College Hall of Fame. At Elizabethtown College, he won two MAC Championships and was named MAC MVP in 1994. Twice during his college career he was named an All-American. Crampton coached and played at the professional level for the Reading Rage. He holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National, Advanced and Premier Coaching Diplomas, passing all with distinction. He is the Pennsylvania Technical Director and a National Staff Coach for the NSCAA and served as a clinician during their 2011 and 2013 national convention. He holds the Union of European Football Association “UEFA” A License, the second highest soccer certification in the world. George is the U10 girls coach for Western Lehigh Soccer Club where he trains his daughter. ••• Coach Tony Billone completed 12 seasons as head coach of the girl’s soccer program at Notre Dame High School in Bethlehem. He is a DeSales alumnus, graduating in the class of 2000 with a bachelor’s in sports management after playing and serving as captain on the men’s soccer team. Following graduation, Billone served as assistant coach for one year before joining the Notre Dame staff. Billone holds the NSCAA Regional and Advanced Regional Coaching Diplomas. Coach Padraic Farrell joins coach Crampton’s staff for his first year as the graduate assistant coach. He graduated from DeSales in the spring of 2013 with a degree in international business and will be pursuing an MBA with a focus in management. During his time with the Bulldogs from 2009-12, he appeared in 48 games totaling seven goals and 11 assists for 25 points. He was named to the All- Freedom Conference Second-Team as a senior in 2012 when he led DSU in scoring with six goals and eight assists for 20 points. Farrell attended Parkland High School and currently resides in Allentown, PA. He played soccer in the NPSL with FC Sonic and Pocono Snow and currently trains and provides private instruction to over 15 athletes and two local teams. ••• Tyler Nolan returns to the staff for his second season after serving as a student assistant coach last year as he finished his degree as a history education major. He played four years for the Bulldogs finishing his career ranked tied for sixth in games played with 79 and tied for seventh with 20 career assists. Nolan also tallied nine career goals as a defender and helped DSU compile a 49-24-7 record winning one Freedom Conference Championship in 2010. Nolan was named to the All-Freedom Conference Second- Team as a sophomore and First-Team as both a junior and senior. He earned ECAC South Region Second-Team honors as a junior and First-Team honors as a senior and was named to the NSCAA All-Region Second-Team as a senior.
